When I first got the 2210 I didn't think that the seat was as bad as some here were saying but as I spent more hours on it my back was hurting. Watching with interest the X series seat conversion, I tried doing it my way. Attached is a picture of what I came up with. Getting the front of the seat into a suspension mode instead of fixed helped with the ride. The problem with this was that there was some rocking side to side. You can also see the nylon ties holding the air shock in place until testing was complete. I'm sure that if I had spent more time I could have devised better platform. But as with most things I lost interest and decided to purchase the X series seat and suspension. So here is my updated seat. It feels pretty good but I still can't mow flat out with out getting hurt /forums/images/graemlins/smirk.gif

Here is the X series seat. I used the X series slides with the long seat adjuster handle.

Hi , Nice job I was looking at doing the same thing, but thought you might sit to high with the X seat.Is that the special edition seat or standard X seat?

Thank you
Jim

DJ,

Nice post...but in that first picture the 2210 looked pretty dirty! Been giving it any new workouts? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Give you credit you went longer then I did. My 2210 had two hours on it and I removed the 200cx fel to mow, and boy it bounced the **** out of me. Even tried lowering the air pressure in the tires. The dealer thought I was crazy buying a new seat and base for X-series.

That is the standard X seat. Yes, you do sit higher maybe 2 inches but does not feel that different. I have long legs and with the original seat sat all the way back but with the X seat it is one or 2 notches from the back.

Not anything new but after looking at that pile of dirt in my yard now for months I'm spreading it out in the low sections. As it is TN red clay stuff I spread it and rototill to brake up the clumps. When it is dry and I hit the edges with the mower there is a cloud of dust flying around which gets me and tractor dirty. This fall I will seed it and hope it sustains grass. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
