Can anyone tell me how well a moldboard plow works behind a 2305? I am looking for one but I don't know how large of a share my little tractor can pull. Is it possible to get 6 inches or more deep?

Specifically, no. I don't have either the 2305 or the plow for it.
Probably depends as much on tire size (tread width) and plow size. Expect only AG (bar) tires would be narrow enough to go into a 10 or 12" furrow (trench) made by the plow.

Otherwise, it should work, given the right size, and the right design, and the important adjustments. Those are huge 'givens' if you can't just buy a plow attachment designed for that tractor.

I had a 12" moldboard plow behind my old '39 Deere LA that plowed 6" deep.

Good luck with your search.

I have a 14" single moleboard that works really well behind my BX 2200 and I can pull it 6" deep and more with no problem in 4wd, although I have loaded ag tires. Will post a couple of pics.

That's a B Allis Chalmers plow that I cut down and made a Cat1 three point hitch. Here the ground was really dry and hard, have used it later in better conditions and have been really pleased. I think yours will pull a plow if you have the weight and Ag tires or chains for Turfs if that is what you have.

I have R4's with 72 LB. starter weights, suit case weights for the front and I myself weigh 300 so it am thinking I have the weight issue covered but do the ag tires make that much difference?

Usually the R4's are wider than the Ag tires. Will your R4's fit into a furrow for the plow you have in mind? I find the R4's don't have the traction in wet dirt that the Ag tires have with the bars. Maybe you could add chains to the furrow tire if going with the R4's and the moldboard plow leaves a furrow wide enough for the tire.

I think you should be ok in most cases with the R4's and the weight that you have, unless you hit a muddy spot, in that case, it's too wet to plow anyway. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

What kind of plow do you have? I know for an old country boy, there's almost nothing more enjoyable than turning over the dirt, and right up there a close second is working it down afterward.

I have seen 12" and 14" Low Profile moldboard plows that are designed for sub-CUTs. I have not used one though, but it should work with your 2305. The reason for the low-profile is so it won't drag the ground even after you have it in the raised position. As far as tire width, your 12" should be fine.
