I just got a Frontier BB2048L for my 2305. After adjusting the center link as short as possible, the BB was still tilted back slightly. I wanted the scarifiers to be as low as possible to tear up a bunch of sod for a driveway so I wanted to tilt it forward slightly. I talked to the JD dealer who had no useful advice other then it might be because of the "Limited" cat 1 hitch.
I ended up buying an inexpensive center link and shortening it 2" and now it works great!
Other then that, I'm very happy with my new tractor!

What is the minimum and maximum lengths of your modified toplink. I have a similar problem with the 2048 BB on a 2305.

The link that came with the tractor would only shorten to approx. 19.5" center to center. The one I shortened I normally use at 18.75" center to center. It is adjustable from approx. 16.75 to 20.75. (Sorry, I don't know how to type fractions!)
I'll attempt to add some pictures just for fun!
PS: As you can tell from the pictures, it's a cheap link I got from the local supply store, not the fancy one from J.D.

Cheap or not--whatever works.

BTW, learning to type fractions isn't 1/2 as important as knowing how to convert them to decimal numerals /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Thank you for the pics. I will have to get me another toplink and have my uncle cut and weld it. I've never ever learned to weld. I guess now is a good of a time as any. And as BigPete says, converting to decimal is far more important.

Davkir:
I found a 9 1/2" and an 11" cheap toplink from a grey market dealer. These measurements are the length of the body without the ends. I bought the 11" one and it solves the box blade problem without having to cut and weld. It's smallest length is approximately 13 1/2 " and it's longest is about 21"
