2305 Collection System

Anyone else frustrated on how the JD collection system mounts. Seems to me they could have required the independent lift to be purchased with it and then mount the bagging unit on the 3 point so you don't have to remove the IMatch, or maybe I'm not seeing something.

Yup:

I've already been thinking of ways to mount it without the stock bracket.
Also they could have avoided drilling the left 3pt arm and removing the right one
by using a simple spreader that fit near the play adjusters to spread it wider than the bagger unit.

It'll probably piss me off the first time I have to remove the whole mess to mount a 3pt accessory.

No I haven't used it yet Scott. You could always put high lift blades on if its not picking up enough. That's what I did with my old unit.

Boy you are not kidding this is one royal pain in the butt to install and take off. I was amazed that you had to take the I-match off, check me if I'm wrong but that was the whole idea behind the I-match system, ease of use.

Plus the number of modifications you have to make, it'ds a weekend project.

Yea, I know. I've already been looking at it for a winter project.
I think I'll flip the original drawbar mount around (The bags should still clip in I think) instead of cutting it.

Then I was going to weld a steel rod (maybe with some angle iron bracing. to make the 3pt mounts. The top mount should work flipped around.

The only issue I can see with this is I'll need to make sure I account
for the height when the 3pt arms are at their lowest and I may need to
extend or put a flexible 7" hose where the up tube slides into the
bagger. I'll need to do this since moving the assembly up and down will
change the distance from the blower.

I've just got to motivate myself this winter to do it.

It will be so nice to just hook up and go.

If you get motivated I would love to see pictures of the final project. Anything to make this easier I'm all for it. Other wise I'll have a piece of equiipment that doesn't get used.

Should have gone with the model 854 3 pt. rear pto driven TRAC VAC. This is the reason why I didn't buy the JD setup. The JD unit is a pain in the A_ _ to mount and remove, the Trac vac hooks up in minutes and has twice the blower power.

Lobo -

Will the 854 hookup direct to an iMatch? I see yours is mounted direct to the 3-pt and I wasn't sure if this was by choice or by necessity.

I really like the 854 setup, just not so wild about the price - but then I'm not wild about the price on the JD collection system either.

It is a pain. If I don't modify it by next spring I may sell it.

The trac vac looks like my cyclone rake except that it's PTO powered. The cyclone rake works great, just a pain to empty. I now use that on my 3320 but I use the powerflow system on the 2305.
