2305 Cruise Control not holding

I will be looking at a friends 2305 tomorrow to see if we can figure out why the cruise control will not hold the pedal down. The magnet energizes but will not keep the pedal in place, it slowly slides off and the tractor comes to a stop. Has anyone experienced this problem, and what did you do to fix it.

It works now, what I found was a small burr (from the piece being sheared) on the magnet side of the plate that was added to the forward pedal pivot, it was just enough to cause the magnet to slip on the plate as the tractor bounced along in the yard. I just sanded the burr and the entire magnet mating surface, and shifted the magnet as far forward as I could in the existing holes. This seemed to solve the problem.

Good job finding the problem. It is problems like that that are usually hard to find. Instead of looking for a small defect, most would have just replaced the assembly.
