Hello to all. This is my first post and I am thankful to all who have posted before. I used the forum a lot before buying a 2305 last fall. After about 6 months and almost 25 hours of use I sure am glad that I did buy the 2305. I seriously considered Kubota, Kioti, Mahindra and New Holland as well as JD 4110 and 790. I have about 9 acres--3 wooded and 5 clear and 1 in lawn around the house. I was looking for value in a small tractor which would be used about 50% for rough mowing and the other 50% for various landscaping projects. All the other brands have been mentioned at one time or another as being more tractor for the money, but there was never more than about $1000 differences between the cheapest (Kubota) and the 2305. From the first time I got on the 2305 I was impressed by its power. I frankly think that it has more HP than can truly be used from a tractor its size. My first project was to bush hog my 5 acres of VERY tall grass--it had been growing since spring and got its first cut in October! The 2305 W/ LX4 could handle 7 foot tall grass with ease. It could also cut down small trees, wild raspberries and the numerous weeds like they were not even there! I have used the CX 200 to push around a pile of topsoil left after our house construction, dig garden beds (yes, I actually was able to excavate the top 2' of hard packed clay) and generally aid in the landscaping and renovation of our new yard. I have yet to find a task which the 2305 can't handle with ease. While I certainly understand the y-chromosome need for bigger tractors, I can hardly imagine what I would do with one that I can not presently do with what I have.

SI,

Good post! I think like the brochure says "it will move a mountain one bucket at a time". /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I have always said "it's got attitude" and is a very impressive little package. I do, agree it has more guts than it really needs for it's size. For example, the machine smashes the loader ratings printed in the brochure. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I agree "It can do anything (that I have the patience to learn to do with it)." What it can do depends a lot on the skill and finesse of the operator. It does not overwhelm a task with stature and brute strength but relies on the operator to apply its talents in just the right ways.

I'm happy with my machine and I look forward to a time when I can call myself an accomplished operator.

I'm enjoying the tractor that I could afford now. I'm glad I didn't decide to wait a few more years until I might afford a bigger one.

The bird in hand is better than two in the bush.

I agree!! I was most impressed by the digging power of the cx 200. I have been clearing a brushy field digging up small trees and grading with the bucket. Yes it takes some finess to get the product you want but that comes in due time. I had opted for the turf tires for the lawn mowing duties and I am impressed with the traction they provide. Of course 4WD certainly helps. My only gripe is that the tire lugs are just like my favorite pair of hiking boots. You can bang them, race them , and do any kind of trick and the mud won't come out... until of course, you pull it in the garage. Then the mud instantly releases all over the floor. I also found trying to hose them down releases the mud directly to your face. But fear not, the rainy season won't last much longer.
