2305 vs X7xx Series

   / 2305 vs X7xx Series #21
J .1*Last I checked into the old 425 445 series and then the one that took it's place and now 7 series.
You had to pay for 3 pt hitch. your hyd fittings if needed plus no high or low range.
2*Going with 2305 these things are included and a heavier frame .
3*4-5 yrs ago it was cheaper to buy the 2210 than to get a lawn and garden series.
********
************
1*The 3 point and the rear pto are extra cost options on garden tractors the x 400 and x700.
2*This applies to all S=cuts and all brands Not just JD 2210 or 2305.
3*Last Nov. I bought 2 Sub Compacts for about the same money as 1 x700 series..

Here ya go...
1* I do not like the size of the tractor.
2*I am too tall for it.
3*The tires are too small.
4*Plus I think its ugly.
5*I don't care, and never said boo to you about what you were doing or did.
6*Are we talking about a bx1500... or even talking to you? No....
I would rather have a larger tractor to do the tasks of a bucket and 3 point attachments rather than one that can do all. For MY situation, an all in one does not work.
7**Thats just My opinion, take it or leave it
******.
***********************
1*But others might
2*That don't mean everybody else is.
3*I don't know what you mean by this one. I was looking at the brochures I have on the X700 garden tractors and the 2305 sub-compact.
According to that both tractors have 18'' front wheels and 26'' rear wheels.
4*Don't mean everyone else does.
5*No you didn't but that doesn't mean it's not important to someone else trying to decide between a Garden tractor and a subcompact.
Lets let them have free access to all the information/opinions and let them make up their minds from that shall we!
BTW the way Notice I said Choice between Garden tractor and Sub=compact not John Deere and Kubota.
6*I thought you were talking to a potential tractor buyer just as I've been doing.
7*Nothing wrong with that =Now you can do the same with mine.

I would love to see some pics of your setup if you don't mind. How much will your material collection rig hold??

John

I did the project and (mea culpa) I did not take pics or post about it - guess I was too busy using it! :)

I'll take some pics and get them posted. Schedule is a bit wild the next few days but maybe by the weekend.

MC519 holds a LOT of material - 62C does a great job of breaking things down and the powerflow fan breaks down leaves even further. According to Deere it holds 19 bushel (23 cubic feet) of material.

That's just crazy talk. ;) An ugly tractor? Can't say I've ever seen one...

Scott

:D Ok so Ugly is a bad word.... but the 2305 has a hood ornimate:eek:

Just an FYI on my opinions for ET:
Before owning my 01 445, I had a JD 4110 that was my do all tractor. It was simply not cutting it for me, but it was a great lawn tractor, and great snow blower, but I needed more. So I traded the 4110 to my father for his 445 and bought a 3720, and kept the 5303. It woorks good for me, may not for everyone.

As far as simplicity - the x728 replaced my regent because I was sick of it falling apart and blowing huge amounts of cash on parts.
Comparing a regent with an x728 is about like comparing an L series JD with a JD x748.
Not a fair comparison in my book.

KB,

I had the same question and the good folks here on TBN posted me into a 2305 over the x7xx series...without the blower...heard the collection system was a pain. The little JD outperforms it's size...and pound for pound, it impresses me all the time...despite it's obvious limitations on ground clearance and 3ph capabilities. It mows very well, great turning radius, sturdy frame, and the loader comes in quite handy for a variety of chores year-round. Dirt, snow, firewood, crushed rock, whatever, it does a good job...but slowly. That's my 2 cents. Hope it helps. Enjoy whatever you buy!
