Gordnovo,
I had a 2210 before I got the 2320, and I was moving 1000# round bales chained to the bucket of the 2210 with out too much difficulty. I had about 650# of ballast on the 3 point hitch of the 2210 and about that much on the 2320. I now use a 3 point bale fork attached to a 3 point adaptor I had made for the 200cx. I can now stack round bales two high with the 2320 where I couldn't with the 2210. But, be careful, these size tractors are very unstable, even with proper ballast, when trying to move loads of this size and weight. I'm working on level ground, so, I don't worry too much.
From what I've been reading, the 2320 and the 2520 have pretty much the same lifting capacities.

Thanks horrhey,

Wow.. stacking round bales two high! That's great. The best I can do with my 2305 is stack 900lb Square bales by carefully balancing on the bucket (probably not the safest approach!)

I'd love to be able to stack round bales! The cost savings on going to round bales would likely pay for the cost difference between 2305 and 2320.

I've got my dealer looking into the numbers. I suggested that we cash in my 2305 1.5 years into a 5 year lease. To help keep the cost difference down, I suggested that I keep the 200CX loader, ballast box and rear-mount blower and simply upgrade the tractor and mower. This may be quite a good proposition for him. Basically, he'd sell me a new 2320 and new attachments but he could keep the new snow blower, loader and ballast box (since mine are like new anyway). I'd get a new 2320 with drive-over mower with my old attachments. I'm hoping the value difference in the new loader, snow blower and ballast box would offset the depreciated value of the old 2305. This would leave the cost difference of the tractor, which he tells me is under 3k CDN, and the cost difference between the used 62C mower and the new 62D mower.

Here's to wishful thinking!

Hey, gordnovo, good luck in your negotiations with your dealer.
I went to the 2320 with the same reasoning as yours. I was affraid of soil compaction for lawn mowing, since I will be using my 2320 for all my lawn mowing chores. And I had completed all the difficult landscaping work around the yard with the 2210.
I tilled and leveled 2 acres with a 42" disc and a 72" danish tine digger. It took all summer, but it was ready for seeding in the fall.
I also distributed and leveled approximately 300 yards of fill with the 2210.
I had to put an 8" back board on the 53" bucket and increase the front tires to 28# preasure to support the extra weight in the bucket.
So, I figured the 2320, with the increased hydraulics capacity, would be able to handle whatever else I needed to do around here, only easier.
I also noticed the loader lifts much higher and the tractor seems alot more stable when doing loader work. I felt the 2210 was very unstable compared to the 2320. I'm sure you'll find this to be the case, also.
Good luck,
horrhey

The 2520's fast hydraulics and direct-injected motor are just amazng compared to my 2210. :D
Hydros must be 3 times the speed.

Depending on your largest tasks and your common tasks, can the smaller tractors handle them? Get the largest one that you can afford and makes sense for you!

Well I pulled the trigger on a new 2320 today.

I went cash deal (purchase financing with my bank that was a whole point l cheaper than JD's 6.9%. **** I can't afford one of these things outright!!!). I traded in my leased 2305 package and purchased back my used blower and 200CX loader to help keep the costs down. My JD dealer figures he could cover the cost of the buy out from JD financing and still make some $$ when he resells it (gotta love how these green machines keep their value!!:))

For 21K CDN, I'm getting the following:

new 2320 with R3 Industrials
new 62D with manual lift
new rear/front Bale fork - custom made
2005 200CX loader with 51" bucket
2005 54" Buhler/Farm King rear mount snow blower

No PST, as it's "agricultural equipment" and the GST becomes a fully refundable input tax credit for the business.:D

I haven't seen the bale fork yet, but my dealer tells me it's the dogs bollocks!! He has an arrangement with a local guy who builds them i-match compatible and it includes brackets for quick-tach to the loader, in place of the bucket. It's not safe for large round bales on the front, but it should handle square 800# bales quite nicely. I'll post pictures when I start playing with it.

I'm hoping to take delivery this weekend!

Hi all. I'm new to all this. Been wondering if JD did anything to correct the conflict between the mmm and 46 bh frames yet on the 2520. I was all set to buy one until I read this here. Dealer wasn't aware of it until I showed him what I found.

Also...what does everyone think of a woods of bushhog bh if the 46 doesn't mount right?

Thanks all...Justoldernow
