Hi All,

Well, thanks to some great input from many of the members here I finally pulled the trigger on a 2320, 62"mmm and FEL. I couldn't be happier. The dealer offered to even make the adjustment which allows me to have greater blade height while mowing. (I found, as many have, that the factory pre-sets on the height adj. knob did not allow for a "higher" hi setting...) Anyway...I'm sure this is a stuuuupid question but I haven't found any info. on this: I have the mulching kit installed and wonder what direction I should be mowing-Clockwise or counter? Thanks in advance. Phil D.

ps-Also looking for a snow plow for this machine and not enamored with the JD 54' blade. Suggestions?

No mulch kit here, so I can't comment on that...but the 54" blade I can. The only real complaint about the blade by most users is that it is simply not wide enough. These tractors can easily handle a 60" or 66" blade. Some have added "wings" to the side to extend them with great results.

Thanks Kenny. Would you recomend going with the JD snow plow and adding wings or look at some other manufacturers?

I have operated a friends Kubota B2920 (29hp) with a 4ft wing on each side. Plus a 60" blade on the front. It was a little big on tractor but it had very little trouble pushing 6" of wet snow at full revs, 4WD engaged, Differential locked, loaded ballast box, and front and rear chains. I am sure your 2320 would have no problems plowing even with a wing plow.

There really is no aftermarket choices for the front blades. The JD blade is good, the QH (quick hitch) is fantastic and the price is decent. I say get the blade and add 6" to the sides.

I had the 47 blower on my 2320 when I had it. It worked great and I think you can get the 54" blower for it now. Either way the track is less that the blower.

In my view front blowers are the best way to go if you live in snow country and have a long dirveway.

My 2305 easily pulls a 60" rear blade through ~15" of snow. You shouldn't have a problem with a 2320...

For mulching, it doesn't matter at all what direction you turn in. The blades are still going to cut grass! I run every direction on my yard and don't see any difference in cut or mulch left behind. What will make a difference is running too fast in high, wet grass to properly mulch. The Yanmar diesel won't lug at all, and you can race through high areas, but the cut/mulch won't be as smooth as running slower would get it.

Thanks for all of your input. I seem to be noticing that when I cut in a counter clockwise direction the cut grass forms a little pile-up whereas when I go clockwise and the left side of the mower deck is cutting new grass there is an even distribution of grass....

I also have new B2320 with the belly mower.
i have the wheels set so they just touch the ground at the heigth i want.but if i use the knob near the back of your legs to ajust the cut height it will not hold the mower up she will fall and lower its self with in a few mins of moving around.so i raise the 3pt hitch till i see it hold the deck firmly up to try and get my heigth i want.

is this normal to have to do this.

Interesting, Phil... I suspect that the speed of travel over the cutting area may be at work in your pile ups. If the grass flows left to right to mulch, as it would to discharge, I can see a pile up due to the right side of the cutter getting too full of grass to accept more for mulching as it travels through more uncut grass than the left side. A bit of physics I wouldn't have paid attention to!!

Water, are you adjusting the 3pt speed control knob on the seat support, or the cutting deck height adjustment on the floorboard? The deck height adjustment is a mechanical stop, so when set there is no way the deck can drop lower.
