2320 vs 2520 is the 2520 worth 2K more????

I'm still shopping also--hopefully sometime in the next year. Just contracted for the "home" for the unit---a 30x40 Morton building going up this fall.

For what I'll be using the tractor for--90% mowing with a 62d, some tilling, core aerating, and a little loader work I'll likely go with the 2320. If loader work was a major task or I had more wide open areas for a 6ft RFM I'd go for the 2520 (or like Runner says--a 2720). I've got too many trees, etc to go around for the RFM.

For now the extra $2000-$2500 savings on the 2320 over the 2520 will go a long ways towards implement purchases.

Bite the bullet... get the most hp you can. I owned a 2320 and a 2720. Both great machines but the 2720 was much nicer. The 2720 and 2520 also have a steel floor and rubber mats.

Now I have a 3320. Once you learn what you can do with these things you always go bigger. As my dealer says, "Nobody comes in to downsize!"

Thanks for the info, But i'm still confused, I just want to move some clean gravel that I have delivered in 19 ton loads, Do I need the most horsepower or loader power?? The 2720 will lift how much more than the 2320 or the 2520?

If I am just using for the loader work to lift and transport full buckets of gravel 50 feet a load. What is the extra hp doing for me in the loader department?

The hydraulics being faster by 1 second full lift height, I don't think I need to lift a full bucket of gravel that high! Really is it just 1 second faster??

The dealer keeps saying the 2320,2520,2720 all lift the same. Even more confused now

Just pick the middle one and go with the 2520..Problem solved..

I can tell you I have had a 2210 since 2003 and just upgraded this week to a 2520 and if the 2320 is the same engine, trans,hydro as the 2210-2305...Then the 2520 is the only choice..It is sooo much more tractor in every why than the 2210-2305 it is just amazing.

The lift capacity of the 200CX is 800 pounds on the 2320, 2520, and 2720. The raise/lower times for the 2320 are 4.73/2.88 seconds versus 3.19/1.95 for the 2520/2720. The 2520 and 2720 also have enough hydraulic capacity to run the loader without taking power away from the steering. The 2520/2720's larger rear tires also provide more ballast when liquid filled. Those are the differences that I see.

This is the info I needed Thanks, I'm stopping by the dealer tonight to bring one home. The dealer has both a 2320 and a 2520 available for test drives with a fully loaded bucket and weight box attached. they both are low hour demos so I can get them dirty he tells me.

They have ready a brand new 2320 with loader and a new 2520 with loader ready for me to take home the one I choose (Both with ballast box)

Since the 2520 can't lift any more than the 2320. I'm going to see how that extra hydraulic capacity works with the loader during the test drive.

Great idea! That is exactly what I did. You should be able to decide pretty quickly which one is the best choice for you.

Nothing beats seat time. Try to get BOTH delivered at the same time. Much easier to compare when doing side-by-side seat tests.

What a salesman I had !!! Tested both the 2320, 2520 at a rock pile in back of dealer. At first I was poking around at the pile,then the salesman come up and told me the ladies room is inside!! he cracked the throttle wide open and told me to attack the pile. He explained this was going to tell me the maximum these 2 machines would do. He explained that I could do as little and poke later on.
After the test of the 2320 and 2520 I tested a 2305 just to compare, What a mean machine the 2305 is!! Deere has their work cut out on the new 1xxx series. They better make sure there are no more new 2305 out there before the 1xxx finally hits the lots. A very productive machine the 2305 is, but no new ones here. Test drive of the 2520 loader no more at all over the 2320, when the 2320 said thats all we switched the same fully loaded bucket over to the 2520 (still full same weight) 2520 said "I GIVE" also no different in capacity.

I asked my salesman about the drive shaft on the 2320 vs the 2520, his reply was "you think your a better engineer than yanmar that builds these things"? he said with a smile. He then showed me the offset final drives on the 2520 and said, "you scared of a drive shaft? look at this setup compared to the 2320 big straight rear axles". (he said some freek out at the 2520 offset final drive)

Any way he knew I was approved to buy a 3320 (not what I need for my property) and told me it is all about working smarter not harder, buy what you want, not what your neighbor wants. I looked at my wife for advise and she pointed to the 2320 and said get this one its taller (than the 2520 hood) it looks neater!!!!

Go figure! I bought the taller 2320 over the 2520 took the $2000.00 I saved and bought the ballast box, 2 sets of rear deere factory wheel weights, tooth bar, rear 5 foot blade, and headed home.
