Adding loader controls to a tractor that doesn't have them is VERY labor intensive. If you ever expect to add a loader, you'll be miles ahead by getting the tractor from the factory with the hydraulic hookups. Spending $480 now for the loader controls is only $8/month.

Yes, be sure the loader controls are in place. You'd need these for a front snowblower, front dozer/snow blade, broom etc. Perhaps they are standard, but be real sure they are present. Kubota.com would should if they are standard equipment. Good call Spencer C.

Just got back from dealer. I went buy while the were closed to look deeper. You guys got me thinking. I may end up hating you folks for it!!! HA HA. They have a 2360 still in the create in the unload section with the loader controls factory installed. On my way home i was using your logic Spencer C. I could probably get the whole FEL fo less than $30 a month. I'm going to try to bargan on that one tomorrow. What would be a deal on the FEL, anyone know basic dealer cost?

A LA243 FEL for a BX is $2400 or less if bundled into the deal. I paid $2100 (LA203) plus tax for one in a crate. I bought mine 9 months later, much for the same reasons discussed above. I already had the valve.

If you get the FEL now, you wont have to worry about getting one later when they are harder to find.

BP Fick is right you will be burdened with trying to find attachments for your purchase later on and if it does not have a front end loader it will be much harder to sell outright and have less trade in value.


Buying the smallest B model will allow you some leeway to obtain implements and add hydraulics up front BUUUUUUT with the financing options available you could buy a loader and a flail mower with the zero financing with little difficulty and still be able to buy other implements.

Because you have storage problems for the FEL, you might postpone its purchase initially, but again, you'd have to stay alert. While no one ever know Kubota's intentions, if they ever update these models, getting a FEL would suddenly become very, very difficult. So, it is a bit of a gamble.

When I bought my tractor last summer, the 60 series was new, so there was no risk in postponing the purchase for awhile. I'd say, based on past history, that the present series isn't likely to change for at least another year or two. You just don't want to be the last one standing when the music stops.

The whole re-sale issue is sketchy, at best. The FEL is a strong selling point, but figuring the whole money in, money out is tough to compute. To me, it is all about utility. No way I'd move into a new house project without a FEL.

Discussed the new plan with dealer today. $10,500 for 2360, factory installed hydo $487, FEL $2,700.00. $13,670 plus tax. Your thoughts? Seems like he is high on the FEL by several hundred. He has it all in stock.

The total is all that matters. Have you priced this particular combo, 2360, MMM, and FEL at any other dealer? You might find your quote to be the best you can do.

I have, the tractor is about $300 less from the dealer I speak of, the implements are neck to neck. I save about $180 with the factory installed hydo verses the dealer install. I"m still somewhat confused because I also have a charge for the hydo hook up on the FEL itself, looks like that would be included in the $2,700 for the loader. I would assume this is the hydro lines on the loader itself? I just noticed that folks seem to have picked up the loader for around $2,200 to $2,400, kinda made $2,700 seem high. He said the FEL list for $3,200. He is 15 minutes from the house so a couple of hundred really dont matter, he was the best deal however. I was shocked about the insurance stuff Kubota requires you to carry, would be around $20 additional dollars a month. My homeowners at State Farm dosent meet the "flood" requirements. Heck it cant flood on my property, not happy about that. Honestly the insurance game they are playing may take me out of the game. I may pass on the tractor based on that one factor. Tomorrow is the day to pull the trigger or live without it I guess.

You MIGHT do better by contacting your agent and asking for a rider or inland marine type policy. My basic homeowners would pass muster either, but with the rider, it was all good. I did save a little, but there are advantages to Kubota Insurance that no independent policy can really match. There is a kind of built in damage repair feature, protection of the little cooling fan, coverage for accidents and things that the average homeowner's rider just isn't equipped to match. It's your call.
