Well I just joined the 2500 club... a 2550 will be delivered on monday. Been looking for a while and I do think the cc you get the biggest bang for the buck and you are not buying a name.
Will get some pics when its delivered. Checked all the local places that sold cc and found only one that would discount below the manufacturers recommended sale price. They paid my taxes for me :D a 238.94 discount, 4 g's out the door!!!

I just bought a new GT 2550 today too! About the same price as you, so I guess we both did ok. I get mine Tuesday night after work. I searched this board up and down and do agree that the 2500 series is the best deal going right now for a GT. Congrats!:D

Yes, congrats! It's a good machine. Also makes me feel like a got a deal for once. My 2544 was $2999 + tax in 2005.

I know how we all like pics!!! Delivered about 330 this afternoon...

Will be at least another week or two before I can do anything in the yard... still some 3 - 4 ft snow banks yet where snow was blown over the winter. Did manage to repair the drive(dolomite) where it meets the asphalt with the big tractor as there was quite the large speed bump coming onto the pavement.

Very nice! I also like where your dealer put his sticker. The color and location work well with the rest of the tractor.

Yeah... was thinking about taking the dealer stickers off... but it really does not look too bad. Usually the removal of dealer stickers are the first mods I do to anything I buy. I'll leave em on for now.
The arm rests had to come off though... I know during spring clean up I will be on and off the tractor at least a million times lol. They tend to flop down where you have to put them up to get on or off the tractor. Maybe later when its just mowing I will put em back on.
Cant wait for the snow piles to go to get some tractor time in though... :D

Any of you use the mulching plug? I got the mulching plug and will probably try it with it on and off to see how well it works.

I tried the plug on my 44" deck and didn't like the results. The problem was I'd have to mow every 3 or 4 days to keep the grass short enough to not clog the deck every 30 minutes or so. Now I have the chute guard off completely so that the clipping disperse much better, and and very happy.

Dan thanks for taking the time to post the pics! Man you can't beat the looks of the new 2500's that for sure. I still don't get a warm'n fuzzy over the exhaust blowing through that plastic grille though. I'd be tempted to heat wrap just the outlet pipe. Too bad there's no way to mod the exhaust on these with that hood design.

 Looks almost as good as mine. You have some snow to deal with as well it seems.
The snow banks are like taking forever to melt. We had highs in the 50's - 60 degree weather for the last couple of days and the banks are going down so ever so slowly :(. I beleive we are to be back in the fortys for a few days again...

Yep I agree, the exhaust however does not really jump out at ya just kinda reminds me of a snorkle when ya look at it. If you are not really looking at it you dont really notice it though.
I guess its better than having the exhaust pointing at the ground toasting the lawn... my previous tractor had the exhaust pointing downwards... and if you let it run for a short time on the lawn (parked) you would end up with a large yellow spot.

Yup. I still have about 6" left in the yard, with some good size banks. Going fast though...

Oh yes, the previous generation 2K series like mine leaves the tell-tale burnt spot. The exhaust blasts out the side down low, but the heat that radiates from the muffler is what burns the lawn if you stay in one spot too long. 'Bout the only good thing about the previous gen exhaust is, it takes a lot of the heat away from the PTO and engine.
