When i use my mower ,york rake , box blade ,ect. the arms on the hitch rub alot on the tires no matter how much i adjust them, the only way that the arms wont rub is if i move the pins in the implement to the inside , the problem with this is having to move the pins when i use that implement with one of my other tractors i have pats hitch system just wondering if anyone has any better ideas

I noticed my box blade had the arms rubbing the tires today. I finally just went to level ground, and lowered the blade to about an inch off the ground. Then I centered it by hand to where I had a couple inches clearance on each side. Tightened up the links where I had no sway, and that solved my problem. JC

Get an iMatch quick hitch. One adjustment of the saw links, and a one-time fix of your attachments. Clear sailing and fun thereafter. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Yup. I've had the same problem with the 2520. You have to snug those lift arms to eliminate virtually all sway. And if you plan to use the On-Ramp feature where the 3pt will carry the mower around, the I-match is an absolute requirement, because the release levers on the front mower casters will hit the tires no matter how snug you make the 3pt arms.

That's the one complaint I have on the 2520 -- there is just no room for slop in the 3pt. I-Match is a requirement.

Haven't noticed... but I do have the i-Match. Get one, they're wonderful...

One thing you should check on your 2520 is the rear wheel setup. The wheels are convex from the factory. If you swap the wheels with each otehr, they will be concave outward giving you another 4 inches of side to side clearance. The only drawback I have found is the air nipples are on the inside of the wheels - but the extra clearance is very valuable.

Reversing the tires as described above is a requirement using R4's - after the tires are reversed, and tighten up the links, and you will have enough room on either side using I-match quick hitch (or similar products) or without...
Valve stems on the inside -is the desired goal and add's additional stability overall.

I put some clip pins through the hole in the adjuster bolt, which limits the adjuster travel to half a turn. Works great in conjunction with the R-3's and I-Match...hey...something smells like pumpkin pie!...

Had the same problem on my 2520. Moved turnbuckle mounts to inside versuse outside of spacer, cranked turnbuckles all the way down. The rings would not hold. The arms still would contact the tires. SO i tried the pins discussed previously. It helped. Had the JD service rep swap the R4 tires and all is well. I have 2+ inches of clearance on both sides. I can raise my box blade all the way up and no contact. It was an educatioal process for the dealer also as they didn't have a fix for the problem.
