These are baby tractors, if lifting way over 800 lbs is very important get a bigger tractor. The 2520 can lift over 1000 lbs but when it only weights 2000 lbs give or take it will not take much to go arse over tea kettle.

The lift specs mentioned are at full height. I know Chris has lifted much heavier weights with his loader on the 2520, but I wonder if that was at full height. Full height is pretty high, much higher than one would seem to need to service a jet ski. One might be looking at 2 to 2.5 times the lift ability at 4 ft. for example v. full height. That would put the 200cx on the 2520 at a lift capacity of around 1500-1800#, if not slightly more, at a lesser height. This is one aspect the spec sheets here do not address. I think both parties can be correct. Although I have not owned one personally, I think the rate-limiting step of the 2520 with the 200cx is the ability to safely ballast the weight it can lift. Even with my 3720 I have been able to lift the rear of the tractor free of the ground when the bucket has been wedged under a large, embedded rock, so I know it has far more capacity than its rated 1598# at just over a foot less lift height.

witch answers the mans question that started this thread. Your 2520 will lift any jet ski made. I dont think any of them weigh over 1300 pounds. so the bottom line is , i answered the mans question.....

I agree Chris. I suppose my biggest point to be made was that I think you are right and have given the poster good advice. I hope that you did not feel the response to be a comparision of the lifting capacities of the 200cx v. 300cx loader, as I mainly lift only mulch with mine (a Joke attempt). The original poster could lift what he wanted to a height of less than full height (but still plenty high) with a 2520/200cx combination. I do not though think the Deere specs are "crap" though. As we both know well, Deere has the fudge-factor they HAVE to figure in to account for things you or I would not consider. We both know your 2520 and my 3720 will lift with their respective loaders much beyond their listed capabilities. JD wants to advertise what their loader will lift on a given machine to a certain height one time, ten times, a thousand times, taking into account variations in hydraulic flow, seals, metal and component fatigue, etc. They also fudge a little for the less learned among us who will try things that are totally unreasonable with their machines. They really do not care much about a high number to post in the literature, they care about the maximum repeatable number they can guarantee to their customer who buys such a loader with such a machine and keep competitive with the field. You and I both know, and have respectively proven, that these machines will do far more than advertised, in reasonable use. Neither of us, nor probably any other poster in the forum, could duplicate the type and frequency of testing the engineers at JD do, nor can we accurately account for the variances that they must consider before publishing their specs.

John , I do agree with you to a point. i know JD is just covering there self.
What i dont agree with. is i think thay fuge to much. to the point
of someone not thinking the machine is as capable as we know it really is.
in turn. some folks may buy another brand. thinking its more tractor .
when we know its really not... sometimes JD is so conservative on there numbers. it might hurt them. I know what these machines will really do. cause i have done it myself. not something i just read. I always felt Experence first hand is the best lesson or advise. So when people ask these questions. I will keep telling them the facts. and thay can decide for there self.. For the record. i have read what a 3720 and a 448 hoe can really do. thats why it will most likely be the next machine i buy. Then when people ask. i will be able to tell them exactly what a 3720 will lift. cause you know. I will put it to the max.
