Edit: The glow plug 'light' or icon is on the right side. Looks like a heating element, sort of. I didn't notice it until two days ago. On for about 15 seconds tops.
That is interesting - I have never seen any glow plug light on my dash.
Of course it is ~45 deg F today when I started my tractor, so I wouldn't have seen the icon if it was there anyway!

I believe what your seeing is the "low oil pressure" light. There are no glow plugs.

Could it be an air preheater light? Try pushing in your key and see if the light goes on(with out the engine running)...not sure but that is how it works on the 3000 series.

Edit: Oh well ignore this post, just checked the manual online and it is'nt an air preheater sorry.

Hi Welcome - Great tractor

Preheaeter - pull out the PTO and turn key to right hold for 15 seconds to preheat - pop in PTO switch and start tractor

Fronts can be set wider - I did mine with the rears - doesn't add a lot but every bit helps in the hills / slopes

Cheers,
Brad
Interesting on the preheater. I had noticed when I purchased my unit that a heater was listed in the on-line parts listing under the air intake system, but no mention of what you describe in your post was in my manual.

I just ran out and stuck my key in my 08 2520, there IS a glowplug indicator that comes on. If you leave the key in the "on" position before starting the engine, the light goes out after about 10 seconds. I know that there are no glowplugs in the 2520, but the light is there. Not sure if it is meaningless or if there is in fact an air intake heater. BTW, it is in the 50's here right now, I don't think this light is temp. dependant. I've seen it everytime I turn my key to "On".

I have only had my 2520 for a few weeks, but I must have missed where that light is - I don't see it on mine.

I just went and tried mine. When I turn the key on the lights that come on are, on the right side the pto light and on the left side starting from the top
four wheel drive light
oil pressure light
battery light

None of these lights go out until i start the tractor.

My 2520 tractor has a pre-heater that is an engine block heater that heats the anti-freeze like a block heater would.

The glow plugs are activated when the key is on and the high-low lever is in high or low. You can hear the click. There is no light. Just give it 5-10 seconds, then put it in neutral and start it.

Deere will have new redesigned 3 point arms in July according to my dealer. Turning the tires with the valves in will give another inch or two per side till then.

I am replacing my 62 hour 2520 with a new 2520 if anyone needs one.

Not sure why some of you are saying you don't have glow plugs. You most certainly do on the 2320 and 2530. They are standard. When you turn the key to the on positon the glow plug indicator should come on for 3 seconds and then go out. That is when you are supposed to start the engine. The owners manual explains it all.... If your light is not coming on, then you have a problem.

I don't see anything about glow plugs in either the tech manual or the owner's manual for the 2520. However, page 149 of the tech manual outlines the operation of the engine preheater. It says this:

"The preheater is energized (heated) when the key switch is placed in the ON and START positions...

After 15 seconds, the timer turns off and removes the ground path from the 121 Blu/Grn wires and the preheat relay coil. This causes the preheat relay to open and stop supplying currrent to the 33 and 32 Blk/Red wire and the manifold heater...

When the key switch is in the START position, current is provided from the C2terminal of the key switch to the 31 and 32 Blk/Red wire and to the manifold heater...

When the engine starts, and the key switch is returned to the ON position, power to the C2 terminal and 31 and 32 Blk/Red wires in removed."

So, no glow plugs on the 2520, but yes it has a manifold air intake heater. The heater comes on whenever the ON or START positions are selected on the starter switch, and in either case, it shuts off automatially after 15 seconds.
