2520 w/front blower... ready for winter

   / 2520 w/front blower... ready for winter #21
The first day I had my 2320 I was moving mud away from the barn. I needed 4WD and and occasional diff lock but boy it sure got through it. I tried spinning the tires on snow yesterday and the R4s did fine. I like this machine, it's been very good so far with all the tasks it came up against although I haven't really pushed the BH yet.

Shawk; First thing tomorrow gonna send you some white flakes. Can't let a nice unit like that stay polished in the garage. Have to sell you some r-4s. No style show is complete without a set of traction grabbers. Is your blower wide enough to clear the tractor ? Looks like it would be close. Its a tough job....... but someone has to do it. ( had so much fun I did the neighbors parking lot. )

If you do... you'll be put on my "ignore" IMMEDIATELY... keep the snow to yourself :D :D

Yeah, I agree the R4's certainly give a tractor a mean look... and may even look a little better. But I'd bet money than my turfs will take me anywhere I need to go in the snow...

Regarding the width... I turned my tires to it's narrow stance. If I remember right, that narrowed my overall width to 52"... and my tracks will actually only run 50ish inches.... so should be close enough. Next season I may not bother turning them to the narrow width. But I was curious this season how much difference it made. Tractor stood at 54 to 54.5" at it's widest stance with my turfs.

Keep your snow and just send me some pics... I always like good pics...:)

Shawk - did you get your snow yet? Your rig looks great. I'm being a little self congratulatory since I have essentially the same set up (minus the boat)!

As you've now converted for snow, you know that you had to change the front bracket from what the mmm needs. When I looked at them both , it seems that with not too much problem, one bracket could be modified to do both jobs and simplify the crossover. Have you considered this or heard of anyone that has done it?

Let me know what you think.

Thanks Fud... I'm sure I would like yours as well ;)

JD has a 3rd attaching part that apparently combines with the snowblower attaching part that stay on together. This allows you to change blower or mmm without the hassel of changing the front parts. I chose not to buy the additional front part for now. Instead I'll get out my wrench this spring and simply change them back out. I'll have plenty of time between snow and cutting grass to change... for now anyway. Eventually I may buy the additional part.

No snow yet... :)

Shawk,

Thanks for the tip. Like you, I will probably keep wrenching for a while. That is... unless my welder starts getting itchy!

Yep... I hear ya. That's a tool I've been thinking about lately. I need to do a little homework though before I buy one.
JD should have one integrated plate for these tractors... but of course that would be to easy.

No snow here yet either. I cut a set of chains, that I got from a retired trucker, down to fit my 4110 R4s I don't know if they would be wide enough to fit turfs though.

Well... tonight was the first I put the unit to use. We didn't get a lot of snow but I decided to clear the drive since more is coming tomorrow. The unit is SUPER quite. IF it is raised all the way up it'll get noisy because of the angled stress. Otherwise it can hardly be heard. IMPRESSIVE! The blower made very quick work of my drive. MUCH faster than the FEL I used last winter (as we all knew it would be). BUT, it's also faster than the push blades I've had. I commented to my wife on the way out the door that I had wished I had a blade for these little snows. BUT not now. The blower was definitely faster... I'm a believer now... :)

Dare I say it............ I....... had........ fun........ moving.... snow....
