Mahindra (2011)5035 HST TLB & (2016)2555 HST Cab & (2017)1526 HST(2018)Cub Cadet Pro Z 154L (1991) Caterpillar E70B
Raised my seat up today. Decided to go 3" up and back one set of holes [ 1 3/4" back, using an unused set of holes ] using some home made oak blocks. Now the seat height is more like my 5035 HST, and still have lots of head room. Going back allows me to get the seat adjustment knob out of my leg path entering/exiting the tractor. The blocks are just 13 1/2" pieces of 4 by 4, with one side shaved off to give me 3.5" x 3".. [ I are a profussional, do not try this at home ] For a 3" block height, I used 8mm X 100mm bolts.

You've inspired me to do likewise with my 2555 HST! Tired of sitting with my knees above my hips and a litter further back might be nice as well. Thanks for sharing the details and dimensions. It's become my shopping list!

I have been modifying my stuff for years. There is no such thing as perfect, and anything you can do to make things better is a good thing...!!!!! Life is short, live better.. :)

Jerry,

How well did this work out regarding distance to the steering wheel? With it not telescoping, is it still comfortable?

Thanks for starting this thread, I've been meaning to post my pics but haven't gotten to it yet. Your post pushed me to put them here!

I made a similar mod on my 2018 2655 HST Cab. When they went to the new seat design it doesn't go back as far as the seat in the 2555 and I noticed the same issue about my knees being too high up when sitting. I also went 3" high but used 2"x3" stainless box tubing since I had that available. I also got plastic end caps which aren't shown in the pictures. Raising the seat 3" makes it WAYYYY more comfortable and increases visibility.

The last pic is looking down behind the seat. I moved the seat 1-1/2" back but probably could have gone 2".

Not sure why this posted my pics sideways, they show up the right way on my computer. If anyone knows how to fix it let me know!

I have a 2655 as well and am big and tall. thanks to this thread i did the same thing. used 3 inch square tubing that a neighbor had in his scrap pile. the holes on the side are so you can get the bolt in at the rear. the notch on the top of the front is for the nut holding the bracket on the bottom of the seat to clear. i moved the top bracket back 1.5 inchs as well to give more room to the back. with it at 1.5 inches back, it still had a finger width of clearance at the very bottom of the seat that is closest to the back cab wall.
