Require you to spit the tractor?

Yeah for anything down in the tranny, drivetrain you typically have to separate the tractor into two parts in order to get to it. Even just changing the clutch. The very end like the rear PTO you can usually just pop out the back for but anything else you start with busting the tractor in half. It makes working on tractors a bit harder than working on cars and trucks. While I typically do my own work on my truck, I'll cheerfully let my dealer handle the tractor except for the minor servicing stuff.

Technically, not a Mahindra, but a Mahindra badged TYM.

Figured, just not familiar with the TYM units and where this particular shaft seal was. 20 hours isn't bad. I'd rather split a unit than the standing on my head to get to the trans of an IH TD9 I had to work on. Did everything through a top plate on the floor of the operator station.

It looks like they split the tractor and the tranny in half in one fell swoop. Is it going to be easy to get it back together getting all those shafts lined up with the bearings and what not?

it was very difficult to line up again because the gears shift internally when tractor is split

It looked to be a bit of a challenging task since you can't use gravity to help instead of hinder your effort. I can't really see standing the tractor on it's head to help either. LOL
