Spark test - hit it with a grinder... few orange sparks is cast, mild steel will spark like crazy and the color is more yellow.

My godfather (master welder) will hit it with a hammer; a thud is cast, a ring (dinging sound) will be steel.

This is how I tied down the front of my mahindra 2555 cab tractor.

loader cross member under the front and then get you a clevus for the back

That is how I tie down. The loader frame has a large hole in it for a chain hook. I think criss cross the front and clevis in the back.

yes tried to make it look like the brush guard mounts and powder coated them.
