I have a 2004 2615 and last night when I was moving firewood the range lever broke where it connects to the transmission. It was held by a single bolt which broke in half. I was wondering if anyone else has had this problem and if the bolt is really a regular m8 x1.25 bolt or is it made on the the range lever. I have been able to get the nut and part of the bolt loose but I have not been able to get the bolt loose from the range lever.

The bolt I looked at in my parts diagram has a keeper pin on the end of it. Is that the one you are referring to? If so, it doesn't appear to have anything else holding it in place.

I would send you a copy, but adobe won't let me copy the document.

Let's give this a try. Here is an image from my cell phone. Disregard my earlier comment about the bolt. I wasn't looking at it correctly. I hope the diagram helps.

How do you attach a picture like that, to your post? I can't figure out how for the life me, heck I can't even seem to insert one the smiley faces. I can attach these things to emails but can't attach anything to a TBN post.

AchingBack Thanks for the reply
The picture you sent me is different from what I have. My range lever has a bracket which is made on to the bottom of the lever, this bracket has a bolt in it and this bolt goes to a small piece of metal and is held in place by this bolt with a nut on the bolt. This is the bolt which broke. The other end of this bracket is attached to a lever on the trans which is coming out of the case. I was unable to get the bolt out of the range lever and I wonder if the bolt could be made on the range lever and is not removable, in which case I would have to get a new range lever.

Just trying to attach something. Thank You Achingback. One picture is the range shifter on the gear drive model and the other is the HST model.

Thanks Galen for the picture. The picture shows what I needed to know. The lever is attached with a bolt, all I need to do is get the bolt out to replace it.
