Tractor
Mahindra 2615 gear
I've got 7 whole hours on it now! My observations so far are, It's easy to operate, the layout is sensible, it's reasonably comfortable, the physical size suits my use and the power is adequate for the 6ft finish mower even though the grass was pretty tall. I moved a little dirt with the loader and found it to be easy to operate. Fuel consumption seemed reasonable for the amount of work done, though I've got no standard of comparison not ever having owned a tractor before. I guess if for the amount done the expenditure felt justified that's about as good a standard as I can come up with. Speaking of fuel, although the tank on the rear strikes me as better than on the front under the hood (especially with the loader frame in the way) it's still not the easiest thing I've ever done to hoist that five gallon can up there to fill. Branson guys with the tank under the platform have the easy arrangement. The fixed PTO guard is a bit tedious, but not a killer. Implement attachment with the fixed lift arms took a little doing but again no killer. Some Kiotis have telescoping ends and a swing out of the way PTO guard but when I tried them out I didn't get to hook up an implement. On the whole my Mahindra 2615 gear so far is quite satisfactory and would easily rate 8.5 to 9 on a 10 point scale. Would I recommend one to a friend? For sure.

DMB, you should like the tractor very much. I have a 23HP Cub which is 'almost' identical to yours, mine is gear as well. I believe the frames are the same up through the 30HP model. Tough tractor and should do a good job for you. I agree, putting fuel in it is a pain but you won't have to do it that often. I put around 25 hours + or - on it a year and I only use about 10 gallons of fuel or so. It seems to be about the most economical engine I have had, first tractor like you, and first diesel.

My 2615 HST is now a month old, it has done a lot of loader work and brush hog work. No problems at all, it has 31hrs and I really like this tractor!!

Well, sorry, no photos since we are somewhat digitally under equipped at this time. That's a capacity The Boss Woman and I have discussed adding at some time in the future. As far as a review, I can and I will do that soon.
Here's sort of an update on my update. I just discovered a new use for the loader. My 69 Road Runner which is apart for restoration will soon have to be moved to the new house. The engine was on a stand, not a safe way to move it. So I built a crate for it and with a hook and chain on the loader hoisted it up, detached the stand and sat it right down in the crate in less than five minutes. I attached and raised the mower for ballast since the tires aren't loaded. I took it easy to make sure there was no balance problem and quick and easy, one Hemi in a box ready to travel! Everybody said I'd find plenty of uses for a loader.
