I am trying to really decide what the heck I want and everytime I think I made up my mind I notice some problems or negatives of each model...not just Kubota but Mahindras and Deeres.

Now that people have had the 29/2620 models for a time, what are the dislikes that users are experiencing. One of the comments I have noticed is that the 3 cylinder models seem to vibrate the tractor / controls excessively at low speeds compared to the 4 cyl b3030s (which is really getting too expensive for my small lot and usage.)

Interestingly , i've heard the opposite as far as vibration goes. The new 20 series is a great tractor, i was inches from buying one myself. Unfortunately i can't give real feedback, but i have yet to hear any real complaints about them.

I have a B2620 with 16 hours. Mostly tilling and lanscape rake work so far, and I used the loader to move a 6 yard compost pile. I haven't noticed any vibration issues, but then I'm a tractor newbie, and don't really have anything to compare it to. I do however wish I got a B2920. I have very hard clay, and basically am crawling along at less than 1mph with my 4' KK II. Otherwise the tractor starts losing RPMs. The 3 extra HP would have helped some.

It is possible that the B2920 has more vibration than the two smaller B2x20 tractors because the extra cubic inches were gained by increasing the stroke of the engine. I guess from my days of working on aircraft engines, I prefer closer to "square" bore, and stroke engines in machines that need to be worked hard. I did drive a B2320, and it seemed pretty smooth to me.

That's the type of feedback I'm looking for....most users say there wouldn't be too many instances where the HP difference would come into play but you have a good example. I was planning on getting a tiller too and trying to figure out what size and didn't want to go too big..4 ft was the size I was planning on.

I only tested the 2920, and it definitely vibrated more than the B3030 at low rpm. It seemed to smooth out a bit as you increased the throttle, but still, the 3030 4 banger was smoother, which was the opposite of what I was hearing over the years.

I had a 24 hp subcompact, and with my power loss at 5500' elevation, I was still able to run a Landpride RTA1550 tiller with no power problems, even in hard-as-concrete, bone dry, compacted clay. The tiller didn't dig in real well, but there was never a problem with PTO power. I would definitely go with at least a 48" tiller, but if you are tilling garden type soil, you can go bigger.

My brother in law takes delivery of his 2920 today and I'm going over to show him how to run it (first tractor). He got the 50" Landpride tiller, MMM and loader. I will let you know what I think later today.

BTW, you'll have about a 52" wheel width. The KK II is offset, so you can still cover your tracks, but this would not be the case if you went with a non-offset 48". I'd suggest trying to buy something closer to 52" if you are willing to pay the price. But you'll likely need to go through a dealer and pay closer to $2000, where-as I was able to get the KK II on sale for $1200.

I just measured again and it is closer to 50.5". After buying my KK II, I ran across the 50" CCM CR-50 for $1200:

CCM Gear Drive Rotary Tillers

50" should be wide enough for a 50.5" tractor, but it also offsets 4" if you want. After shipping, it probably would cost $100 to $200 more than my KK II (which was $1300 after taxes), but I think it would have been worth it so I don't have to offset.

Well, I tested out my BIL's 2920 today. Did some mowing and tilling. Its a sweet little machine. It ran smooth and there was no vibration on the instrument panel. I think you would be happy with a 26/2920.
