I’ve been doing a bunch of research and I’m about to pull the trigger on a 2638 cab. I ran across a review that said the a/c could not keep up on a warm day. They also said the HST pedals were not comfortable for operations like mowing. Can anyone with a 2638 give me their review? Thanks!

I don't have a cab, so can't comment on the ac. With only 50 hrs. on clock I have no problems with the pedals, did not like the rocker setup some tractors have. the only thing for me was as this was my first tractor i was so used to gas and brake on cars and trucks I instinctively pushed the wrong pedal at first, can be bad in tight conditions. Short learning curve though. I did a lot of research too. I am really happy with it. It's more powerful than i was expecting. I've got hours of bush hogging, dug post holes, loader work, tilling, box blade work. Pallet forks are very handy.

can't comment on the A/C yet.. the heater works good tho! you can get a cruise kit installed at dealer. it's a very simple magnet setup.

I used the a/c this summer in the 80's and full sun. Had no problem and was real nice. As far as mowing, I have only done loader work until I use it for snow this winter. I think it would be okay though, the cab is sorta small (don't find it horrible at 6 feet) but I can get my feet right over the pedals and use them easily.

i ended up modifying my brake pedals. i shortened them up about 1.5".. i made it so the factory lock stayed put. just moved the flat pedal back far as i could so the lock worked as is. made a absolute huge improvement for me with my big feet. a lot easier getting in and out too! but they are a "CUT". i suppose you can only cram so much stuff in a certain size lol. but i agree, it isn't all that horrible.
i moved the seat back 1.25" also. feels a lot more comfortable now. all in all i pretty happy so far. minor adjustments are no biggy for me.

I appreciate all of the replies but I’m still wanting to hear from someone who has operated the 2638 hot temperatures. I want to be sure that when I’m mowing and it’s 95 outside, the a/c will keep up.

For the pedals if you're doing any extended mowing then get the cruise control option added. It's about $200 to add the option when you're buying the tractor and it only takes about 15 minutes for the dealer to install it.
