26x12x12 tire mount secret???

When I am trying to get tires to seat the beads I remove the valve core and then attach a clip on air chuck to the stem to be adding air to the tire while seating the bead.

I bought a used bead seater tank 4-5 years ago off FB Marketplace for $40, only thing wrong with it was the bent handle. The only reason the guy was selling it was to get a larger one for large truck tires.

The frustration and time it has saved me was well worth it, especially for the front tires on my lawn tractors. I've used it more times than I can remember although maybe only 5-6 times a year including neighbors & friends.

Even got a deal on a used rear tine tiller because the guy couldn't get the bead back on, on one tire. He dropped the price, so I paid him. Told him I'd be right back, had to get an air tank out of the truck. He told me he had an air compressor and had worked for 2-3 hours to get it mounted and gave up and why the reduced price. He looked puzzled when I came walking back with the bead seater tank. I asked him if he could rock it up on the other tire and said sure. I placed the snout on the rim and WHOOF..!!, bead was seated. He looked at me and said SOB..., I gotta' get me one of those and laughed. Money he knocked off the price of the tiller more than paid for the tank right there.

Ive seen, up close the ether/match deal. Works great but i wouldmt do it myself self. These tires have thick walls so they dont wanna flex out to the bead area easily. Too bad they are mounted already. I have gotten tires delivered. Bring them in to a warm house, then, I put a few 1 foot long 2x4's between the sidewalls on the tire. Keep that way for a few days. It helped train the sidewalls to stay spread so they land on the Bead area of the rim.

My son's camper trailer had a tire go flat and was significantly deformed because it sat flat for a long time. I tried the ratchet strap technique, but I could never get both sides of the beads to seat. I applied generous amounts of grease to the bead, and it both lubricated and sealed the area long enough to seat.

I have used gasoline in my poorer days, but I used a torch to ignite the fumes from a bit further away. It worked.

And then when you put the tubes you pinch them with the tools and have to patch the tubes.

Yep, rookie mistake. Tube is installed, then slightly inflated to get it centered,then attention to detail is required when mounting the 2nd bead.
Yup, starting fluid makes it exciting to seal the beads.

Walmart on-line.
I hate doing that but best price & just did another mower. A few days ago I had Walmart install four Goodyear's on wife's Mustang, ordered from Walmart. Great price.
