I'm coming up on 50 hours on my B2910 and just dug out the owners manual to see what I need to buy for filters. Everything I have read here indicates that I should change engine oil and filter and hydrostatic oils at 50 hours.

However what my manual lists for the 50 hour service is:

- Start system saftery tests
- Grease a few things
- Check wheel bolt torque

Thats it. Motor oil changes happen at 100 hour intervals and hydrostatic fluid changes are at 300 hour intervals.

My question is do I have an old manual and Kubota has now added these changes at 50 hours or do I have a new manual and Kubota has eliminated these changes at 50 hours? I bought the tractor in August 2001 from Steve Carver and this is the manual which came with it. Only number I can find on the manual is Code No. 6C170-6311-1 on the back cover.

thanks,
Timd

In the operator’s manual that came with my 2000 B2910 there are 2 pages that list all the required maintenance on a chart. They are on pages 44 and 45. All the items with a double circle are to be done at 50 hours. If for some reason your operator’s manual does not have these pages let me know. I will scan and attach them to a post.

Ron -

Now that you give me the page numbers I see they're in mine too. What's strange is that there's no mention of the oil/filter changes in the 50 hour service section a few pages later.

thanks,

do yourself and your tractor a favor, and change the fluids and filters. i know it ain't cheap, but it is best for the machine and YOUR peace of mind. then follow the intervals for changing, don't worry if u go beyond the hrs, for a few hrs, ain't no different than your car, supposed to change at 3000 miles but no harm done if u go to 3500 miles.

You have a current manual. As Frank f15 said, it is best to change fluids and filters after the 50 hrs. as this is the "break in period". It is probably the most important fluid change to remove any foreign material out of your tractor's system.
