yes they are wanting to squeeze that last nicle out of our pocket on fuel prices.but once it gets to high people will quit freely buying fuel.an everything will go backwards again.
I don't think it will this time.
Three years ago when the gas was up to 4$ a gallon I broke down and bought a small car.I was spending over 600 a month in gas on my silverado 2500.Sad part is it was cheaper to buy a car than drive
my truck. Now I only drive it on weekends or when needed. My wife and I used to hookup the camper and go every weekend now it's cheaper to get a seasonal.Go figure.
I agree- 2 years ago I was in same boat as you and I'm seeing prices following the samee trend for this year- its gonna hurt this year. also the kids will be deprived of what we had years ago for vacations.
Diesel $3.50...........Gasoline 87 octane $3.00 here in eastern Kansas (BP brand). I just got layed off a couple years ago and the annual pay increase never stayed up with inflation as far back as 10 years. Now the social security administration says there is no cost of living increase for the past two years. Boy can these liars figure. I guess us retirees are not suppose to drive anywhere or buy food. Welp, when they got ya by the gonads, what cha gonna do?
I agree with you- but with SS running out of money, either we make a choice having something still there for years to come or adjust as peer inflation and run out. THEN WHAT?! I don't know about you, but I am depending on SSA in future.
I'm thinking it's going over 4 bucks for gas this time before it goes down. Whatever the high was last time it will go over. It's really bad timing too, it could kill any economic recovery we might be seeing.
I agree- its going to change the way we recover forever. We just need to switch to another source of fuel- no matter what the problems associated with it. (ie ethanol melting rubbers, etc. biodiesel waxing more in colder weather then dino version. )
