3-4 Acre mowing solution

I wandered about those, I never have been around them, always wanted to try one though. Top speed on my zg20 is 11 mph according to the book, my gps shows in between there and 10 fairly consistently. A Kubota zg is pretty stable on the hills, I can vouch for that personally, they are wide across the rear. I live in the hills myself. I mow a pretty steep ditch, I have to mow with the flow of the ditch, with rops up and seatbelt on:thumbsup:, and when she gets tippy, they are like a duel wheeled tractor, it will slide instead of rolling. Also for the f the steering wheel would be nice LUTT

I brought my F2680 (2wd) home to see if it would mow my hillside property. It did fine as far as stability but going straight up the steep hills and making some uphill turns while on the steep parts was where the problem came in and that's why I had to get the 4wd F for home mowing. My neighbor had a z at one time and got rid of it pretty quick. I think it sort of lifted the front end off the ground going up his back yard, scared him enough to get rid of it for a BX tractor. Now he's giving serious consideration to trading his BX2350 to a F3080 (4wd) after driving mine. He does very little tractor jobs, he mostly mows and I have a BX25 if he needs some quick tractor work done.

That five day cycle for mowing is a killer with a multi use machine even though it might only take 10 minutes or so to change as you then have to change back! That equates to thirty minutes most times.

Figuring mowing time I often use the same formula that I do for farm equipment!

Width in feet times the miles per hour divided by ten.

5' x 6mph=30 divided by 10 = three acres an hour.

6' x 6 = 36 divided by 10 = 3.6 acres an hour.

These numbers are pretty accurate and depending on the yard with trees and other obstacles you could mow about four acres an hour with a 60" deck in your pasture areas!
