Its your security setting in your browser.
Here arre links to the pictures:

I clicked on your links but get no pictures. Only pages of Janpanese writing. I clicked all over them trying to find tractor pictures but had no luck.

This computer terminology is Greek to me. I have a Dell computer with Vista. I also have McAfee protection. I use internet explorer. I am confident it is something in my protection system, just not smart enough to find it. Thanks to everyone trying to help.

Yotang - WELCOME ABOARD.

I do have a question for you. We are told in the U.S. that Yanmar never made Service Manuals for the YM series tractors - Do you know if that is true?

I am butting in here as usual but I think they did make service manuals. They were just printed in Japanese. The parts manuals are too but they are still usable because of pictures and part numbers.

That works for me, while just clicking on Scoops highlighted links takes me to the Yahoo page full of Kanji (Japanese) text.

I would love to get my hands on a Japanese version of the service manual - with the google translator - it might give me the gist of what needs to be done!

I have a "rough" idea about what you are talking about. I went to "tools" and experimented turning off a few things but never able to pick up his pictures.

I clicked on your "here" and just got a page or two of Japanese writing. This old country boy struggles in this computer generation.

I'm not sure what to think now. On my iPad, when I click either scoops' links or my own, I get the Japanese page without an image. On my computer, theymworkmfine and show up. Maybe scoops has a hint as to where to look or how to change your settings. What browser and operating system are you using?

I get the same thing on my puter or iPhone.... Red x or Japanese yahoo page

All i get to is the X box or when clicking the "here" link by the "guru" i get the Yahoo japan page and japaneese writing!!

I sure hope you plan to stick around and stay on here we would love to post the Japanese versions of some manuals from time to time to get a translation as well as your knowlege as to how there used the time and why they are upgraded. I would also be curious as to what the farmers are using right now? Is it mostly Yanmar, Kubota, does Mitsubishi still exist? See you joined in 2008 man how did you hold out this long and make all 3 posts on this one thread???

As to parts i guess were lucky here in the US Hoye tractor whos add appears at the top of this page is in Texas here in the US, it borders Mexico, anyway they seem to have about anything that we can want. They also are reproducing hard to find parts like some spindles and other things.

I just checked, the pictures are still visible. I'm using Firefox.

This worked for me as well!!! Thanks

As for the tires i have those on my YM they cam on it reconditioned. I think Hoye also sells the rice tires adn you can still buy them new from firestone i think. There R2's arent they? I may have my numbers mixed up?

Also notice his fuel tank it tinged red. Not sure if they dye deisel over there red like we do or not? But someone said the tanks should be clear and a way to spot a recon is that it will have a reddish tank? How some one came up with that i have no idea but something tells me this is not a recon!! Also my tank is clear except for red dye stain as well as the bit of overspray that hit it, and i have a recon?? :confused2:

I think your understanding is perfect except 1).
Any tax break to a new tractor does not occur.
The tax imposed on a tractor is only very few registration tax for running on road (except for a consumption tax when purchasing). It is about $20 a year.
If it is used in yard only, the tax is unnecessary.
And, the disadvantage of the tax on the exhaust gas of old tractors does not exist.

That so many used tractors went out from Japan has another background. It will be a long story, I will write about it on this weekend.

By the way, was the attachment method of my photograph bad?
I put the same photographs and some of others on "Reviews"(Yanmar YM1300). Please check them.
Thanks!

I am looking forward to this!!:licking::licking:

Ginormous, your thread has been hi jacked, but I'm hoping you are enjoying this. If not, I apologize for my shipwrecking and will stop if you wish.

It is partially true. Most of them are the models for Japanese domestic.
They are "Gray market tractor" for the manufacturer.
However, the very near model for export exists.
For example, YM1300D-->YM135, YM1500D-->YM155
These manuals could be obtained in the U.S.
However, "very near" is not completely the same.
The appearance is almost the same, but there is no method of getting to know the detailed differences.

Thank you! I will be interested to read about the exports. To us, we wonder why a tractor would be retired while it still can be used. And as you can see, we pay far more for a used Yanmar than the price for that same tractor in Japan.

Nothing wrong with your attachments, but our browsers (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari etc) don't do a good job interpreting websites that contain Kanji fonts. Not your problem! Somebody over here needs to tell us how to read yahoo.jp reliably. My experience: I can view your photos but if I hit 'Refresh' then the photo is replaced by nonsense (which is a substitute for the Kanji fonts I should have, but don't have.) Then if I go back to your post, I can see your photo again. Somebody on our end needs to tell us how to fix this.
"Reviews"(Yanmar YM1300).
?? I don't see a link I could click, or any way to go to 'Reviews'. Any advice? Can anyone see that section?

Absolutely. I was thinking exactly what you said. I can't wait to hear the story, since I heard the same things that he said were not the reasons for the gray market tractors coming here.

Oh! Thanks 284! I've never looked in that section before.

Sorry for my dumb question. :(

Yotang that's a great review. I see you bought your Yanmar new in 1976 and now have only 900 hours. (and it survived being submerged twice :D). Maybe we should believe the importers here who say the hour meter has never rolled over and the under-1000 hours shown is real. Far more hours would be typical for a tractor used here. The 1400 hours on my 1980 YM240 (YM2000) might be real, but the 950 hours showing on my YM186D (YM1510D) almost certainly is at least 1,950, maybe more.

As for submerged - I've always assumed that Yanmar expected a rice tractor would go under water once in a while and that's why they all have a compression release - to spin the water out of the cylinders without damage. Was that the big Fukushima tsunami that hit you way down in Osaka?

I'm glad you posted that review. We can only imagine how Yanmars are used in Japan.

My model is a YM2020D - Do you have an idea of where I can get a Japanese version of the Service Manual for it? Is there is a website or even a dealer I could contact?
