3 point backhoe

hello i have a b7510 with a reciently aquired pto driven 4520 backhoe attachment. the problem i seem to have is the hoe seems to have no power it barley digs. i run the machine at around 2100 to 2400 rpm and i really am dissapointed in the lack of digging force it has. being that its third hand at least to me and definatly not new i was thinking maybe the pump is either wrong one or just doesnt work well. can anyone suggest some specs to look for in a new pump flow and psi ,id prob buy from surplus supply on here . thanks

Maybe check out the psi you are getting out of this pump, by plumbing in a oil pressure gauge. That may lead you to the problem, and what to check next.

ok so i just ordered up a hyd pressure guage should i t it in right after the pump before the valves or just put it inline to one of the cyl? thanks

kennyd shows one he fixed up with a male hyd connector on a short hyd hose. He can plug that right into an outlet and see what psi is there. That should be a handy place/way to start. Then...just go from there to chase down the problem.

Be careful with the 3 point hitch BH - The 3 point hitch on the tractor is not even close to as strong as a subframe is so they often damage the three point or even the frame in the middle of the tractor.

One thing that makes the tractors nice is having high ground clearance and nothing in the way of your feet which means limited space to fit frame. My dealer said he has seen them brake in half which means the tranny is probably done. My point is maybe it is set up correctly and it isn't suppose to have tons of force so the tractor stays in one piece.
