3 point hitch: How to keep it raised?

As long as the tractor is running it would pick it back up if the lever has not been moved. You would feel some jerking now and then in the 3 point if it was leaking down and the lever is in the same spot.

3 pt control handle should not move any amount after one removes their hand from lever.

True, true. ... I am not familiar w this tractor, but I deduce from these posts that the tractor has position control. It seems it is not working correctly, and additionally the control lever does not stay where its put. Address the latter first.

Well after playing around with it some more I am leaning towards the problem being the valve body seal. I've been playing in the snow some more and noticed the rear blade slowly dropping almost completely to the ground. I noticed that the 3PH lever did move down some (less than an inch) but the lever movement did not seem proportionate to the amount of drop that the rear blade moved. My gut feeling (and I have no idea what I am doing) is that pressure is being lost somewhere which allows the blade to drop down.

Now I just have to find out exactly what and where the valve body seal is and how to fix it.

Here ya go-

Is the control valve #3 (part# LVA12134) in this picture (assuming it shows up on here). Would I need the whole part or is it the o-rings (#1 & #2 in the picture) that need replaced?

I am still going to see if I can tighten up the 3PH lever just to be sure that's not the problem but my gut is telling me there is more to it than that.

Disregard the band saw picture. I don't know what I did to put it on there.....or how to delete it

I was wondering just exactly where that was on your tractor

If you go to the link I posted (which I assume you did) you should be able to pull up a drawing of the valve body itself. I did it last night when I had time to look through them a little better.

Is this what I should be looking at? It is the "Rockshaft cylinder head and piston" on the JD parts finder website. I can't seem to find the exploded view of the "Rockshaft Control Valve".

The temperature is supposed to warm up a bit over the next few days so maybe I will get a chance to take a look at things.

Thanks again
