Just a question on the same system…..what can I do to prevent the rear lift arms from going down when I lower the mid mower other than removing the lift arms?

Fred, you did say your kids like to play on your tractor, so they may have turned the knob on you.

Yes, that was the problem.

Dang kids, just want to be like their dad and play with tractors.;)

One of the first things that happened to me and my new to me Kubota L4330. Had the answer here at TBN in a couple hours, fixed it the first 10 seconds I had with the tractor next time I drove it. Thank god for the simple fixes!

Chapster, I don't think there's any way to prevent those lift arms from dropping when the mower deck is lowered-- it's the same system. As far as removing the lift arms, I suspect that might be tough to do; they appear to be a press fit.

If yours has the backhoe (2310), you could do what I did: put a length of 3/4" pipe through the BH mount holes so the 3PH arms (disconnected) can lay against it. That way, the lift arms are free to go up & down without hitting anything. If you need it, I could post a pic. WBB

irvingj, I forgot to mention that I have a gc2400, but I think the hydro systems are pretty much the same. I appreciate your input. What I am concerned about is when I lower my mid mount mower, I noticed I had mud accumulate on my lift arms on the rear where I pin my 3 pt equipment. I have some springs in the field where I mow and it gets messy sometimes. I just added the quick attachment to my lift arms and will have to either remove them or just keep an eye on them when using my massey. Thx.

OK, here's how I did mine, and you might be able to do the same: I pulled the pins on both ends of the lift arm links (one of which is adjustable) and removed them. This allows the two now free-swinging lift arms with the ball joints on the ends to rest against the pipe I have in there. I put a couple of bungies on them just to keep them spread, so the two hydraulic lift arms wouldn't hit them when they come down. I also ensured that the hydraulic return line was well out of the way on the right side, up above. (Found that out the hard way!)

I first noticed the problem when I was mowing on the "lower level" and noticed some deep gouges in the lawn as I went up into the steep uphill part. It was those two lift arms digging in as the tractor pitched up.

Hope this helps-- maybe you could remove those two links without too much interference with your 3PH quick-hitch business. WBB
