3-Point Hitch 3 point hitch won't go down

   / 3 point hitch won't go down #21
While you guys are on this topic another thing that could cause this is if the draft control lever is too far up it will effect that 3 pt arms. Another cool trick to know about that draft lever is that it can get you a 'higher' lift and 'lower' lower should you find the need for it. For example if you lift your rear implement all the way up but are crossing a hill or ditch and need just a little more clearance... If your implement is all the way up, then lift your draft lever all the way up and it will raise the arms higher yet. Same with the lowering of the arms. Just note that you have to return the draft lever to the down position in order to lower the implement though.

Very cool to know, as I've already used it...

I would like to string up the engeneer who thought it was a good idea to put that knob right next and at the same exact height as the transmission lock that you have to step on....

Does anyone have a pic? I have searched for diagrams. Mine only drops about 6" and won't go any lower. I see the up and down switch under the brake pedals, but can't find a knob under the seat or anywhere.....

You'd likely find the answer by posting the question on the Case forum. The position of the valve varies by tractor although it clearly should be within striking distance of the 3PT mechanism. On most tractors I've seen it is just where your heel would be while sitting.

As he said, the position varies. Yours may not have one at all even. But as the 3PTH drops 6", then stops, it's likely not the MLS, which is rate of drop, not position control, which decides where the 3PTH stops. Better off asking in the Case forum, or in the general repair or owning operating forum. And start a new thread.
