A friend of mine bought a 2810 HST with loader and 3 point hoe. The hoe is not subframed. He is digging a small pond and has used it to pull some small stumps. Is he heading for trouble with the hoe not be subframed?

good way to split a tractor in half. I looked at 3pt hoes before I got my subframe 511. There were too many scarry stories of tractors splitting in half. From what I read it is worth the money for the subframe instead of paying the mechanic and medical bills for the 3pt. He should check to see if they make a subframe for that hoe tractor combo, or see if a local shop could fabricate one.

Tell your friend that Mahindra will not stand behind the warranty if a non Mahindra backhoe is used & it damages the tractor. It states this in his warranty card, tell him to read it.

He knows this. It is not a Mahindra hoe. It was, however, sold to him by the Mahindra dealer. The dealer made him aware of the warranty issue.

A sub frame for my 2810 HST cost less than $500.00 and that included the shipping, I don't think I would feel comfortable working my hoe like I do if It where hung on my 3PT. If anything between the hoe and the tractor failed, or if you lost a pin, that 1,000 pound hoe would fold into that 3,000 pound tractor with you right in the middle.
I have been stuck to the point I had to turn the tractor around 180 degrees with the hoe. I wouldn't what to try that with a 3PT setup.

i had a 2810 gear w a 3265 3 pt hoe,a HUGE pain to mount and dismount from the tractor plus the potential for body damage to me made me go for the subframe and it was worth it big time. your buddys dealer did him a big disservice selling him a 3pt
