You guys with the wd40 are in the dark ages! Fluid film gentlemen.

OK old hands, what's the poop on best practices with the 3-point lowering speed adjustments.

Regards,
Dennis

I just leave the knob screwed in for a relatively slow speed of lowering, and if it is not fast enough, I screw it out a little more. I don't like to have things lower too fast.

The only time I really mess with it is much is if I want an implement to be close to the ground, but not really touch the ground, such as when scraping snow or something.
My tractor does not have position control, so that knob slows it down enough while lowering so I can have time to get things where I want them with the lift control lever.
It only controls down speed, and has no effect on up speed.

Every blue moon, I will have cause to want the lift to stay up, such as when I am hauling around a subsoiler, or a potato plow, but I really do not mean for the thing to drop and plow the front yard. In that case, I screw it all the way in, but I still check behind frequently. I have done a little accidental plowing in the back yard. Nothing too bad, but it is an ego buster.
