3 point moves up and down with loader

no its the 1st time its done this ever

i noticed it cause it shakes the tractor, like the jerky 3 point used to

its really pissing me off, its at the dealer now. Im just waiting on a phone call.
i use the loadere with the box scraper on it all the time and ive never had this issue

I think this is the exact thing chilly807 and I were fighting. In all of my adjustments, changing the valve about 1/8th of a turn at a time, there was NO in between. It was either a jerky hitch or a dynamic balance situation.

Maybe....just maybe.....there is a spot inbetween my 1/8th inch adjustments that would have had a "perfect" hitch. And maybe your dealer had enough dumb luck to find it the first time around. But now something has changed just a tad and you are where we were. I highly doubt that he can get it "perfect" again unless he wants to spend a whole day on it and have it appart a dozen times trying. And then how long will it last????

As I said before...Good luck. And I dont mean that sarcastically. I really wish you the best of luck when dealing with the dealer.

Do keep us posted on what they find.

It certainly sounds like the problem I had when trying to adjust the valve. If it's set to the specs in the repair manual, it does just what you've described. With weight on the 3 point, if you operate the loader or a remote, the hitch will drop slightly, then raise back when you release the loader valve.

It doesn't do it as much if the loader valve is feathered, it's more pronounced if the valve is held hard one way or the other (wide open).

Mine also did it a little bit if the tractor was at idle and I had something heavy on the 3 point, like 700 lbs of bush hog way back behind the lift arms. It would raise slightly when the rpm came up, then drop slightly when going back to idle. Not as bad as using the loader, but still a slight movement.

I doubt it's wear, there isn't much in there to wear out, especially in that few hours. Plus it all is in an oil mist, so friction is negligible.

It'll be interesting to see what the dealer comes up with.

Jeez, there's something to look forward to.
My 3PTH is doing (just) the 'jerky thing', which at present does not bother me too much. The only use for 3PTH I have so far is for the weight box (box blade might be next).
However if the 3PTH start to have it's on way when using the loader (as described here) I'm really gonna be pi..ed . I have only 4 hours on the clock so far.

You have nothing to worry about, It wont start dropping when the FEL is used. The factory settings (which do not agree with the service manual settings) will often give you a jerky hitch, but the control valve is set this way for a reason, because if you set it so that it is smooth, this is when the FEL (upstream usage of the the hydraulic flow) will affect the position of the 3pt cylinder. Again, you have nothing to fear, it will not change.

James is right. Mine has almost 300 hours now, and is solid as a rock. A jerky rock when you're trying to raise it slowly, but solid otherwise. It only dropped and raised when I adjusted the valve to the service manual specs, and they don't come that way from the factory.

Thanks James & Sean. This puts me at ease. I really do like my new tool :).
From this I gather, I don't need to take it to the dealer and do something about the 3PTH but rather leave it be.

If they want to try and fix the jerky raise (I assume yours does this), they maybe should read the thread on adjusting mine, and be aware that there might be side effects to simply adjusting the valve to the specs in the service manual.

If it does the same thing mine did, I doubt you'll be happy with it, unless they're willing to put it back as they found it. It is the lesser of two evils in my opinion.

Same here. Solid as a rock now, only jerky when raising slow. Other side-effects were only from me tampering with it trying to make it better:mad:

well if they dont get this fixed im going to be making them give me a new tractor or an upgrade to a grand L

This is ridiculos, i have had my l3800 at the dealer 10-15 times since i bought it last june and im not at 50 hours yet

im getting a little sick of all these issues

Have you had other issues other than the 3PH?

i have had stupid issues like a leaky hydraulic fitting for the hose by the 3 point hitch, that took them 3 trips to the shop to fix. Ended up replacing the entire hose for some reason

i would say about 5 trips for the jerky 3 point hitch which finnally got fixed.

2 trips for the seat switch acting up.

1 trip for the backhoe pins being jammed turned and could not remove the backhoe, turned out to be the subframe was loose. And there was some dirt in the U shaped part of the subframe where it drops into

1 trip for the backhoe arms loosing pressure when being stored, it would fall down to the right side, still not fixed. They are looking into it, it looses pressure and falls but does not leak any fluid, but it builds so much pressure that you cant hook up the hoses when you want to put the backhoe on with out smacking the end of the hose with a rag over it with a hammer to let the pressure out.

2 service calls because my auger would not dig in soft dirt. Repalced the auger and it works now

Now its in the shop for the 3 point and loader issue

So ya i am getting rather tired of these stupid issues they are not major but there has been so many it just drives me nuts

Its kinda the local joke at the dealer, when ever i call they are like " really again" that thing is cursed.......
