Hi - I can't get my stabilizer chains adjusted right. My liftarms keep swinging unless they are all the way down, which seems to be the only position that the chains are tight. It seems - in general - that chains would need to have the same anchor/pivot point than the liftarms. Mine connect towards the axel, which is way up from the liftarm pivot point. Any suggestions are appreciated.
Thanks

Perhaps you could give us a hint as to what kind of tractor you're talking about? And if possible, photos would help.

I went back in your posts to see that you have a Mitsubishi D2000. Filling out the bio helps other answer question.
The lift arm’s front eye has to have the same centerline as the front connection point for the sway links to work right. I would venture a guess that your three-point or at least the sway links are aftermarket and needs to be modified. From what you said, the mounting point for the front of the sway links will have to be moved. Do you happen to have a picture of you three point?

Sounds like your chains are anchored at a wrong place. The check chains have to be in line with the lift arm pivot point to work at all heights of the lift arms.
As mentioned, your bio isn't filled out and pics would be very helpful. /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif

sorry for that and I took care of it. Here are some pics I took. As you can see the connect points for the chains are at the axle housing. There is nothing I can see that is near the lift arm pivot point.
Thanks again.
