3 point, steering, brakes, on jd 2020 acting up

Ok, pulled sump screen, funny no oil came out, until i pulled the screen out. Boy, it was clogged. picked up hyd oil 10gal, trans/hyd filter, ordering the sump screen now.
Hoping i don't loose my hair..............

The next question is what was the screen clogged with? Brake lining is a possibility. Cleaning out screen or replacing will make hydraulics work probably, but if brakes are bad, they need to be replaced or more hydraulic problems will soon arise. Was material in screen reddish in color? Can you post a picture?

Ok, the screen was black and brake lining covered. not so much brake lining as I would have thought, but black and sluddgy. I did not have my phone on me at the time, so I just washed the screen in fuel. Made sure it was clean, and replaced. Fired up the tractor, and the lift went up.......I put it down, and it did not go back up. So I drained the hyd, and pulled the screen. New screen should be here tomorrow. (fingers crossed) Then I can replace and refill and test.

I will suggest you also get a 3000# gauge to check hyd stand-by pressure.

Jim, understand. A friend has a gauge I can use, Just where do I put it in at? best place?

If your tractor has rear remotes just plug gauge in breakaway coupling by installing a male tip on gauge. When you activate SCV control lever pressure will be displayed.

Might also wan't to check to see if you have an inline suction screen cartridge on your hydraulic pump. This would be easy to check while you have everything drained out. I would wan't to know that all the restrictions/filters and screens were okay before proceeding. Both TX Jim and jd110 are very knowledgeable with these tractors and I recommend you follow their advice.

Alright guys, here is the news so far....... replaced trans/hyd filter. OK washed sump screen in fuel, replaced OK. (new screen coming on Monday (current screen not in nice shape)). Filled with 10 gal hyd fluid OK. started tractor, IT'S ALIVE!!!! I cannot thank everyone here enough!!!! everything works flawlessly, and super fast. Going to run it a few days, then replace filters and screen, and fluid again. THANK YOU!!!!:thumbsup::drink:
