3 position valve-vs-4 position valve

Thank you for the explanation. I've wondered about the 4 position, and I didn't think it had much application, as I too thought it would give me a faster dump that I didn't need. Now that I actually understand it, I can see why it's so important. I sure wish my dealer had mentioned it or at least given me the option. I have the 3 position and can see down the road that i might be spending the cash for a 4 if i want that front blade....

Nice explanation Kubmech. Looks like the 4-way is not a significant advantage if all you want is a fel. But you never know, and $35 is only about the price of a coke per month over the life of the loan. Guess I'm happy with my choice of a 4-way.

Thanks for the great explanation. So my question is, if I have a b7500 with the 302 fel, I guess I have I have the 3 position?

NHMan, according to my service manual, you could have either one, just as the LA401 and 402 loaders have. The pictures I posted before also apply to the LA302 loader.

I see, so the 3-way valve is missing the non-regen position.
