Just wondering - has anyone with SSQA style loader used 3 pt. attachents on their loader? I was thinking of buying a SSQA mount plate that is already welded to 3 pt. quick hitch. Would then mount my 72" Land Pride land plane to my loader and use on my 600 ft gravel driveway by driving in reverse. It would eliminate the need to drop and re-attach my backhoe - which is almost always mounted to the tractor. Tractor is a Mahindra 2555 HST with appx. 3100# loader lift capacity - so I think I would be OK in that regard. I am questioning if I could damage the loader and also - what kind of job it would do? Any thoughts? Thanks.

Can it be done;yes. How well it will work? You would be stressing the FEL in a direction that it wasn't designed for.

I would be a bit concerned about that as well. Chances of the plane snagging on something that would stop the tractor are pretty small if only maintaining a driveway. I'd want to use caution and keep my speed down.

If you do this please post an update and report on how well it worked. With pictures of course!!! :)

what you propose will be far harder than you realize. backing up with the loader mounted implement will be quite hard. the implement will swing in an arc as you steer getting off of the drive often.

hang something like a log or pipe from the loader and back down the drive to test this.

Works with my pin-on boxblade, but haven't tried it on the driveway:

I use float to fill it:

You might get by with it for light work but, tractor loaders aren’t meant to dish out abuses and SSQA isn’t meant to pull backwards in any machine.

Just weld or bolt a ssqa plate to the back of your box blade.HPIM1631.JPG

would do?

I put a 3-pt hitch on my FEL fork frame, as I never remove my backhoe. I do NOT use an SSQA, however.
I do use the FEL mount to support my hyd mixer, a boom pole, and even a landscape rake, pushing it
forward only.

A landplane it pretty heavy. I do use a 4-in-one bkt on my FEL for grading, and that would be similar, I
suppose. I also skid logs in reverse using my loader so I can lift one end. Going in reverse and not
turning sharply is important.

If you go that route, let us see what you come up with.

Here is another option that would let you drive forward: Skid-Steer Attachment :: Road Boss Grader

If you do get or build a 3 point adapter with SSQA, be sure to have plenty of rollback angle:
