I,ve been searching for some type of Box on here with no luck . Is there anything that can be bought to be used on the 3 PT that could be used to carry Gardening tools , Weedeaters , loppers , chainsaws , Mulch & such .

I bought the wife a small yanmar tractor so She can use around the property for gardens & cleanup around the property . I dont want to put a loader on it & Allthough I may build a little trailor for it later , She would like to have something thats on at all times She can keep loaded with tools that wont be a problem to back up in HER garage. :D .

Any Ideas , Links , Homemade or store bought would be apreciated . Pics would be great as well . Thanks in advance . Bob

Thanks Guys . Yes that 6 foot one might be a bit to big & 3 times the price , & Yes this is a baby tractor

Jim I like the one You posted but it doesn,t list a price , Thanks for the link though. The Wife called TSC & They have the first one in stock & they said its only 100 bucks , So She,s going to pick it up today .

Not sure if I,ll use metal or wood to close it in though . I,m more of a cobbler then a builder like most folks here , I tend to just use things I have laying around , so it will more then likelly be a Redneck carryall  . Thanks again for the input . :D . Bob

Redneck? Sounds more like "prudent" or "green" or "resourceful" to me. Not that rednecks aren't all those things, too.

Less is more.

I agree Jim . Its just that most folks here make things I wouldn,t even be able to attempt to build & most look better then factory . I,m Pretty good at building things I just dont have much patience to make things look very Perty , as soon as its useable its done

The Wife Brought it home & I had it on the tractor in about 5 minutes . it was on sale for 100 bucks & I had a new upper link , so I,m good to go. I doubt I could have built it for that .

I just have to go though My scrap pile now & decide how I,m going to make the box :D .

Here is the caryall that I made, it is actually an old mainframe computer frame that was cut down, I have since added a concrete mesh to the sides so things dont fall out, I also have a piece of plywood cut to size so I can use it as a work bench

Yikes,

It cost $355.65 to ship the No. Tool carry on 3pt carry-all.
That's more than the item itself, 349.99

Bob,

It sounds like your wife is very resourceful, so why don't you utilize her many skills and get her input for what she wants on "her" carryall add-on.

She could probably even make it herself! :)

Thanks Clem & Your correct , theres not much my wife cant do , nor afraid to do . & she will be the one Instructing me on what she wants it to haul & carry .

I,ve been rounding stuff up to give Her choices as to what to use for it. But I really like the one in the video & I hadn,t even thought about the PVC pipe . Thanks again . Bob

Hi Bob,

I got one of the 3-point carry-alls from Homier in Indiana for about the same purpose as you have in mind. But after I got the project started I thought I should make the box easily removable. So I am going to attach it with a couple of hitch pins. My thinking was that if I wanted to take the box off and use the forks to move a pallet it would give double duty. I would almost be tempted on a small tractor to use a landscape wagon and lift it up with the forks. But my wife has the landscape wagon already.

Clem, those videos have a couple of good ideas. I would use something besides caps on the end of the PVC pipe or it will just get broken out from dropping a shovel in the pipe. The gardeners out here have a similar setup on their landscape trailers for the shovels and rakes, but they use 2 pieces of PVC inline so they can put a bungee on the handle in the middle. They also use a piece of wood along the bottom as the stop for the handle.

One tip I can give is about tie down locations, you can't have too many tiedowns available. I have used pieces of chain bolted down every foot or 18" for small tie downs, they would great with bungee cords.

Thanks Bruce , I have a forklift also , Otherwise that would make sense to have the box removable . I,m not sure what other use I would need it for other then forks .

I just have to find the time to mess with it now , as this has Moved down the ever growing Honeydo Priority list :D . Bob

Bob,

Aren't you glad that you are retired so you have all the time in the world to do whatever you want, whenever you want to. :)
