Kioti NX4510
Hi All:

New guy. Lurker. First post.

2016 NX4510 HST. Has only 14 hours on it. Bought it, then my wife got diagnosed with lung cancer and I lost a job. Tractor got parked/ stored while we fought for our lives. We succeeded: wife now cancer free, job replaced.

I want to use my tractor now.... I cannot lower the 3 pt hitch. I read the manual, searched here and the internet in general, and read all the relevant threads I could find, fiddled with knob under the seat etc, and I cannot get it to work.

Please help.... Is there some simple setting I'm missing or could something have seized up from disuse? Of note, I never actually lower the hitch ever before putting the tractor away. First time I tried to move it was today.

Thanks for any advice.

Regards,

Tom

There should be a knob below the seat which adjusts the speed at which the 3ph drops. If that's cranked tight, coupled with stuff being stuck from disuse, it could be tough to get the hitch down. Try loosening that first.

I did try that... knob was frozen at first, now moves freely but hitch still doesn't move. Could knob mechanism be busted?

Do you have a way to get a few hundred pounds on the 3pt arms?

Yeah I could probably do that. Advisable? Sounds a little risky.

Both inside and outside handles move freely and the linkage between them is intact. But the hitch doesn't move at all. Probably not smart but I put my bodyweight on it (190) and it did not budge.

Is the draft lever pushed all the way down? Push both levers all the way down next to the seat.

Actually, did so much fiddling around, I'm not sure I ever had them both all the way down.... I think they started out all the way up..... I will try it.

Thank you ning, ruffdog and countrybumpkin for the quick replies to my first post here... makes me feel welcome.

Nothing "makes" it go down but gravity. Shut the engine off and stand on a hitch arm while you or someone pushes the lever down.

Hey All:

In another thread I found following ruffdog's link, people mention making sure "auxilary remote is in neutral"(how do I do that?), disconnecting sway bars (I can do that if it might help
), possible involvement of PTO control position (why would that matter?) and malfunctioning MLS valve (Huh?).

I apologize for my ignorance, but I had barely used the tractor before putting it away and I forgot most of the inservice the dealer gave me. Trying to figure this out by reading manuals and watching You Tube videos.

Gotta go to bed but will check here in AM and be back in the tractor in daylight.

Thanks again.

Regards,

Tom

Is your dealer close by, may try contacting them, they could give you a walk through on a tractor on there lot. Then if your still having issues time for them to look at it.

The knob works like a water spigot on your house, turn it in a few turns and it bottoms out and stops the flow of hydraulic fluid from leaving the lift cylinders, as you turn it the other direction it starts opening the fluid flow until it’s fully open, but it will only turn a few turns in each direction them stop. If it just spins and spins then some thing on the adjustment has come loose.

Thank you all! Those who said " put some weight on the hitch"..... that was it.... My wife, 1 kid and I put our weight on the hitch, other kid operated lever in cab. Hitch came down. Now operating normally.

Again, Thank you all who responded to my very first post here.

Don’t forget to tell wife that you were surprised that her light weight made any difference at all.

No kidding; it was probably just having the kid on the lever in the cab!
