3 pt Log Splitter

Got it, thanks SR

An open center valve allows for constant flow through the valve and a return to tank (reservoir). When you operate the valve you are doing several things usually, but here I will only focus on change of flow.
Potential issue is does the splitter use an open center valve?
If yes when it is connected and your tractor remote valve allows flow to the remote (pressurizing on of the 2 ports) then fluid will he returned to the tank as normal procedure of the valves and flow.
If not (open center) then depending on how long the tractor valve is open with flow stopped at the splitter’s valve, you could have a heat issue, damage hoses or lines, valves or many other components (O-rings) and tight tolerances in valves being a couple of biggies.
My guess would be the splitter valve is an open center.

Yes - the splitter does have an open center valve with auto return.

I have pretty much that same splitter and like it a lot. i use it on my Kioti DK40SE and it works fine for me. I don't have the hydraulic specs for my tractor handy. I almost always do my wood splitting by myself and it runs plenty fast for just me. I always use it in vertical mode. $450 seems like a good price. I paid around $625 for mine at TSC several years ago.

I had a chance to use the splitter this weekend, I have to say it works great there is tons of power. I took some time and identified which line is pressurized and marked them with colored zip ties on the splitter. Working alone the cycle time is more than fast enough for me. I checked the connections after about an hour of use, barely warm to the touch.

Appreciate everyone's help getting me going.
