I think the CL or Dirty Hand model will work for my needs and save me some $$.

It will be interesting to see how the "Dirty Hand Model" works out; make a Thread on it so we can tell how things are going with it !

I was looking at them, thinking about buying one, they look rugged, well built, and the price isn't too high.

I hear there is a waiting period, they are behind in production.

Anyone in the SOCal area ever use one ?

Please post up what you do.

You can always use the extra space that 12 inches provides. i started with a 9inch for a few years and ended up hand digging larger. All i was saying is it it takes the same power for a12" say on a small tractor 8n 9n or mini. I was more impressed with the speed ect. with the 12inch. ROCKS ARE NO FUN!

I have two concerns with buying and using a PHD !

1) Does my Max28m, 22 PTO HP, have the power needed to operate a PHD successfully.
I live in SoCal, the ground here is rock hard to approximately 12" deep, after the the soil appears to be softer.
I can not deep directly through the top lay with my BH on the Max28, the only way I trench is get a hole started with wetting the ground, waiting and wetting again, and then break the top layer enough to get under it and from underneath pry upward with the bucket.

2) Aligning the Auger: a) Do I place the point on the location I want the holes, and then drive forward to straighten the Auger ? b) Is this the correct way to align the tool ?

I have not had an issue in our Hard N GA red clay using my GC 1705 MF 22.5 gross HP and yes put the point on the spot and move to align the auger.

Thx, I am thinking about the Dirt Hands, Model 110, but I always have to think three times before doing something.

Victory Tractor has some pretty good prices on them. I haven't had a chance to test the brand personally but from the reviews I've read it seems like a solid brand.

Our Land Shark Subcompact/Compact post hole digger is BEST on the market for small tractors like the Mahindra Max/eMax. We have sold many to happy customers and some Mahindra dealers keep them because the fit is so ideal.
