OP-suggest you look up "Implement Limitations" in your Kubota owner's manual for the maximum size and weight spec'd by Kubota for rotary cutters before you buy anything.

I bought a Woods 48 inch cutter a few years back. It was used, the frame that mounts the trailing wheel had been bent--rebuilt it with channel iron--and I gave an even grand for it from a local dealer not noted for low prices.

My tractor is a little Kubota BX25D. That's why I was looking at the 4 footers. I think a 5 foot cutter would be a bit too much for that little tractor. Thanks for your reply.

I assume you don't have rotary cutter experience. Here are some points to consider.

For years I had a Kubota L2350 = 23hp engine, like yours. However it was gear and not hydrostatic, meaning power was not lost to the hydraulic transmission. But mine had a 5 footer and did very well and cut anything I went after - only bogged down when the field grass got really thick, meaning I had to shift to a slower gear. Your intended use should be considered. If you are not doing heavy cutting and doing it often, I believe you will find 5 footer a good size.

Second, with your tractor power being in the lower range, you have no need for a heavy duty mower. The Woods will have strength that you will never use, and anything that heavy will be a penalty to operate. As suggested, perhaps try another source for a 5 footer such as TSC or another Chinesium seller. All rotary shredders that I have owned and operated, even ones that looked like TSC, were much more robust than I ever imagined.

As for the Woods, it may sound logical for the seller to ask for nearly what he paid, but it will still be a second-hand unit and should be priced accordingly. A 4 footer will be hard to sell, and a heavy one will be even harder - the market for that size is very small.

Is $2,175 a good deal for a Woods Brush Bull (BB48.30)? It's one year old (2021), and according to the seller, it was used a total of 1 hour. It looks spotless. He said he bought it to clear a 1 acre lot to build his new house on, and he has no further use for it. I don't know a lot about the bush hog type cutters, but I've always heard that the Wood's Brush Bull was a top brand. Just wondering if I should look into this one? I wasn't planning to buy right now, but if this is a deal, I may look into it. There is a Wood's dealer about 40 miles away, but I won't be able to find out from them what their price would be, until Monday. Just wondering if someone may be familiar with the pricing? Thanks
