Tiller 3 pt tillers are not cheap!

I never considered renting one. I could rent one for 30 years straight and still be ahead! I got a quote of $1795 for a Bush Hog RTC48 and $2250 for a Kuhn EL 23-150. I checked tractor supply and they are at $1549 for the 4' KK II, but that thing is heavier than my manual recommends. None of the TSC stores had the smaller XB model. Craig's list is full of 3 pt tiller wanted ads and no tillers

Just checked a local tractor place. They rent 3 pt tillers for $90/day. Worth considering...

Good used ones are out there. Last fall I picked up a 6' King Kutter with very low hours(most paint still intact) for $850.00. I hope I didn't pay too much:eek:

I'd say you got a fantastic deal.

Yea, you got a great deal. I was looking at the 6' KK at TSC all winter and could not find a used one at all. It was $1800. About a month ago it jumped another $49 bucks to $1849. Pretty disappointed, but I thought what the heck, their only going to keep going up at this point so I picked one up. About a week later I found one at another supplier for $1575. Called a TSC store, not the one I bought it from, and asked if they would protect the price. They called and verified it was not on sale and refunded me the difference. Sweet! I will say though I did call another TSC store and got some manager who was a pain in the you know what, very difficult and would not do it. However, the other store, where I will now do all my TSC buying was great about the whole thing. Have not had a chance to even get it out of the box yet because I have been replacing the blades on my disc plow.

If you are in Ohio and looking for one, send me a pm and I will hook you up.

The TSC stores near me keep the yard door locked. I guess they don't want to sell all the stuff that was piled out there and under 5' of snow all Winter.

my buddy neighbor out by the property priced me his bush hog brand 74 for 800.....almost all of the paint is still on the tines.....i think this is their lightest duty model...

i'd like to have it and it seems like an ok deal but i've spent way too much lately....

....Reverse tine tillers are better ONLY IF you do not have heavy clay ground or lots of rocks.

The clay part is incorrect. The sole reason I got a reverse rotation tiller was because the red clay here in SW Oklahoma is just like concrete when we go through our yearly drouts. I tried a JD647 forward rotation tiller and all that thing would do is scratch the surface as it skipped along behind the tractor. This entry level LandPride reverse rotation tiller digs in and pulverizing the soil 6 inches deep the first pass. My tractor doesn't even grunt and it is quiet back there; doesn't sound like ratteling pots and pans like the John Deere tiller did as it skipped along and wasted my diesel. I would say that it is best to have pretty "clean" land (not any roots and only a few small rocks) if you choose a reverse rotation. Anyhooo that's my experience and opinion, I'm sure others will vary :p

Big difference in KK tiller prices, I guess. I bought a 60 inch for $1150 last year, at the local Fleet Farm. TSC had almost the same price. Southern MN.

At our TSC, KK II 4' is $1549. The 6' is $1929.
