3 Rear Remotes: Worth It??

I have 3 factory type remotes on my Kubota bought with the tractor. I have 1 that is teed with QDs to front for attachments on the FEL and also to the back for use there. I only have a hydraulic top link now but plan on a tilt cylinder in the future.

I have a tree shear attachment for the FEL that requires two circuits; open and close the shear plus the ability to rotate the shear head. This is quite a tool to cut off trees to 8" plus heavy duty pruning up to about 14'

I have no rear remotes on my caseih dx40 but want to add at least two. The cost seems unreasonable, about $535 for one. Have not priced two or three. I am looking for somebody besides caseih to buy the parts from. I would appreciate any information.

Good luck. Factory remotes are only available from the manufacturer as they are integrated into the tractor. I think New Holland might have some as your tractor and the TC40 are the same but I would bet the price is now about the same. You could always go the aftermarket route with say a Prince SV valve and get 3 spools for less than $500 complete including hoses and fittings.

Anyone know how to add one to a NH 2120. There is one rear now and it looks like a stack valve with a end plate. I cant make heads of tails of the parts book. They seem to call about 6 different accessories "remote hyd" and none of them look like a valve stack that one would simply stack up.

Gee...am I the only one with FOUR rear remotes on a small tractor?

In my case I use three frequently, since I have two tilt cylinders, and would have use for all four if I had a angle cylinder on my rear blade...hydraulic lift on my box blade scarifiers, and so on.

Like many, I would advise getting more rather than less, if cost is not too much of an issue.

Up until now I couldn't really see the utility in 3 remotes. I am definitely interested in eventually setting up a top 'n' tilt system. Besides, I have always been into overkill. The more remotes, the better. In fact, I think I want MORE than 3 remotes!! I have checked out and researched some tractors. Now I think I will get a New Holland TJ530. I would get the optional megaflow hydraulics and optional rear remotes. Let's see. . .9 rear remotes, 94 GPM hydraulic flow rate, and 530 hp!! I think that should do it.;) Talk about overkill. That's one for you horsepower junkies!!

Seriously though, I would like 3 sets of remotes. The tractor I have been looking at on my Kubota dealers' lot only has 2. It's a Kubota M8540. I can see where a 3rd would be on the block. I just hope that this is an aftermarket option that can be added by the dealer and not a factory option. Anyone know? I may need to ask on the Kubota forum.

I can't imagine a tractor like that not being able to have more than 2 remotes that can be installed by the dealed. However, I do not know for certain.
