3-Spool Hydraulic Valve Control For a Root Grapple

Actually, re-reading your thread, yes, your valve Could* swap out the original FEL - that would be the easiest way to go...

Forget the power beyond (if the original did not use it, why make this harder than it has to be).

Could* except your threads in the valve are "Outlet Port: #10 SAE O-Ring (7/8”-14) Thread" - It's been a while, I don't think that is what Kubota uses (especially for an L3350). Your dealer should know... I THINK the #8 SAE is correct but maybe NOT the "O-Ring" part of it...

Also, do you know if the Flow of the valve is compatible with your tractor? I think your tractor says the Pump flow: 9.3 gpm - If that is true and you put a hydraulic valve that is only rated at 8 GPM. Your oil will heat up due to the constraints in the new valve.

If the valve is good, (power beyond and flow rate), I would recommend just adding it to your system (yes, a bit more money since you'll need to plumb it in) You'll have extra valves for hydraulic Top link and Hydraulic side link... that's what I did... I had the grapple first, and I mounted mine just above the FEL control...

Removed the cover of the FEL, mounted flat steel plate above the FEL. Used holes that were there to tie it in. Marked where to mount the new valve to the plate, and bolted it together.

Then, I disconnected the high pressure line out of the FEL, called power beyond line, and attached it to the Power beyond port of the new valve. Then I bought a new hose and looped it from where I disconnect the Fel power beyond and attached into the "In" of the new valve.

Only thing left was to tie both the FEL and the new Valve's low pressure, Return to tank, together (with a "T" fitting). I blocked off the other two valves until I got the T-N-T a few years later...

Fourth paragraph does not make sense. First you say connect the FEL power beyond to new valve Power beyond. You do not connect the power beyond post from one valve to the power beyond port of the next valve. Next you say connect FEL power beyond to new valve "IN". which is correct.

I believe you misread his instructions. He said he took the hose off the PB port on the original valve and moved it to the new valve PB. Then a new hose from PB original valve to in port of new valve. This is correct.

Yes, ^^^ I just inserted the new valve between the FEL and the 3PH... I removed the power beyond for the FEL and insert it into the new valve. The new hose goes from the FEL power beyond then connects to the inlet of the new valve.

There was a break in weather today and I've the pictures. I'm overwhelmed by all the help from everybody. Thank you very much. I'm convinced swapping out the valves is the easiest way to go. Going to fit them together in the next few days. Btw, I found the valve diagrams under the box. They were covered with other junk! The pictures I'm attaching could be educational for someone who wants to convert to quick attach the easiest and the cheapest way. I didn't know how to begin until I found TBN! I hope this helps. I'll post pics again when complete. Cheers!

Yes, I did miss read his instructions, they could have been clearer, that's why I said they did not make sense, at least not to me.
Thanks for clearing it up. I "read" connect Power beyond to power beyond, NOT MOVE the hose from FEL valve's Power beyond to new valve's power beyond. MY BAD!

Pictures or drawings for me would have helped.

Any updates on this? Surprised it's not talked about more, swapping out a 3 spool for the 2.
