30 HP CUT Comparisons

I was going to buy the 3240 but after looking closely at the specs and discovering the 3540 was the same weight, i went for the extra horses. My primary use for my machine is working on pristine turf, fertilizing, spraying, aerating, etc. The 3540 is about the maximum weight you can use without causing turf damage in this turf managers opinion. I have to give the advantage to the B3030 on mowing as its a much lighter machine. The grand L 40 series are beautiful tractors, i cant get over how quiet and comfortable the factory cab is, even @ 2500 rpm! I ran a B3030 HSDC for 3 years, its a fine machine with very impressive pto power. I jumped up to the L because i needed more tractor performance in all aspects, from fel power and lift height to pto and 3 point

To run the lighter chassis of the B/7800/3200/2630/3030 and then make the big jump to the grand L-series with the added weight will catch up with moving the additional weight on hills.

At that point the 3540 looks good!

If you can fully utilize the L series tractor buy it. As stated, there is little difference in price between the 3030 & the 3240. Both are fine machnines and will serve you well, the L series is much more tractor.

Thanks everyone for your input...after all the input I leaning towards the quality of the attachments and ease of changing them. The ractors themselves seam to all have qualities. That brings up a question. My dealer said the snowblower for he 2720 uses a "flexible" shaft...anyone have experience with this? Thank you.

So you're not buying a larger machine afterall?

I think it is one pump but not sure. That is the total hydraulic output though.

Yes, the meaningful number is 8.3 GPM at 2560psi (max pressure spec) for
the CK27/30/35.

This is almost exactly what you get with the L3240 or JD3320. These
Kubota B's may have 30+ hp, but weigh less than 2000lb naked and
deliver 5-7 GPM for implements. At 2000psi at best. The former tractors
are over 3000lb naked....>50% more tractor in more ways than one.

I started the thread with a BX23....and moved to the 2720 or K3200...the next "larger" 30 CUT's are simply too big a footprint for me...

The footprint of the B7800 is going to be the same as the 3030 or the 3230?

I'll stir the pot...... A lot of posters will talk about how they don't care about "bells and whistles" and prefer to save the bucks. Then eventually you see them posting on other threads about how difficult it is to change attachments or maybe the issues they have trying to smoothly use their 3pt or maybe the discomfort of their seat or whatever. The future complaints of your purchase is decided at the dealership. Don't let price be the first thing that dictates your choice. Make ease of use the priority decision maker, then shop for competitive price. Your use description makes extendable links, position control 3pt, suspension seat, tilt wheel, HST w/cruise control, ease of attachment removal, etc., very important. Don't compromise on these things or we'll be reading your complaints in a few months. :)

Separately, I'm a Kubota fan. I had a B2910 that was in my opinion the perfect 30hp tractor. Tilt/telescoping steering wheel, mechanical power steering (keeps the spinner knob in the same place all the time), position control 3pt, comfortable suspension seat, telescoping sway bars, cruise control, easily attached/removed MMM, awesome weight/hp ratio, great 30hp/2500 lb tractor. After running it a few hours and getting off, I always looked back and mentally commented how it seemed larger when operating. I think the B3030 fits that same niche with a few minor changes. :)

I agree with the above post. From my perspective, using my machine to make my living, i know im going to spend long hours in it, so i want to be as comfortable as possible.
