Super UDT? I bet not.

If it was the highest grade of Kubota fluid $5 a quart is fair. I’m guessing it was actually the lower grade Kubota fluid. The engine oil better be full synthetic at that price and again I bet it wasn’t.

We always get a dispose fee for the used filters and a shop fee for the rags used to wipe hands.

^^ That's the kind of nickle and diming that drives people away. Those should all be under the basic cost of doing business.

Do you also charge for the Kilowatt hours of electricity the lighting and tools use? That amount of water to wash your hands? A portion of your property taxes?

I paid about $300 for the 50 hr service on my NH Boomer 24. Same deal oil and filter change not hydro fluid. They came out to me to do it since I am close by and they were going to be out working on a big piece of farm equipment near by. They brought the big truck with the big crane on it.

In any event I think that price is fair.

I agree and I’d be pissed about such charges. What was the $126 labor for? The flunky that installed a few filters certainly didn’t get paid that much. 1.5 hours to change a few filters is pretty steep too. I could do it in less time than that and I don’t do it every day.

You are correct. I looked up the numbers and the oil is standard dyno and the hyraulic fluid was regular UDT.

Now I have the facts.
I would say it is reasonable and fair.
I didn't argue the O.P. cost because I never had a dealer service my tractors. But seeing the bill, I also agree the price was reasonable for dealer parts and service.

Still, I wouldn't have wanted to pay that much. However, there comes a time in life when I may have to rely more on a dealership to service may tractors.

I don't know - I would be concerned if the oil used in my BMW R1200GSA motorcycle were only $5 a quart. The motorcycle takes five quarts for an oil change. The oil is $16.95 a quart. This price makes the oil that Harley Davidson uses look like something sucked out of the gutter. Then there is this oil for only $5 - I just don't know.

Of course - other top brand motorcycle oils range from $14 to $17 a quart.

Hydros and GST’s serviced at my shop get SUDT. The guy bragging up a $22 bucket of oil wasn’t buying that or UDT. My post was directed there, that’s the post I quoted. For the record, I did not misread the OP and understood the hydraulic oil was not changed but the two hydraulic filters were. It didn’t seem too difficult to understand.

Is it not unusual to change hydraulic filters and not the fluid?
