Under the Long Term Storage heading in the owners manual for my R3039:
- Check the lubricant capacity of each part and if the engine oil has exceeded 100 hours of work, change the oil and run the engine for 5 minutes at idle rpm.
It’s not a contradiction. It is a different recommendation for the different circumstances of a tractor entering long term storage.Well that totally contradicts the scheduled maintenance list in the manual that’s a few pages after.
haha... you hope. you would think they have your best interest in mind right? the XJ with its mitsubishi s3l2 says 250 hours
the Ram Cummins can go 15k miles between changes on non synthetic oil... does anyone actually know whats what anymore?....
If you aren’t talking about storing your tractor unused for a long term, the long term storage guidelines do not apply to your situation. It’s really not that complicated.Well I’m not talking about long term storage. So not sure how that applies to my initial question.
I’m with you on the engine oil & filter. But the annual inner air is a total waste of money, and depending on conditions, the outer air filter could easily run 3-4 years.I average about 75 hours per year on my tractor. I change engine oil & filter and inner & outer air filters every year. Wasteful - perhaps, but I know the tractor is alway there and ready to go. Way too much investment to even consider skrimping.
